The thing that bothers me is that... what happens to the things that turned into something due to the paramecia awakening after they are transformed into that element? We've seen Doflamingo turning buildings into strings and while he was walking, the floor turned into a pile of strings but reverts to normal after he stepped away from it. The floor returned back to its original form but what happened to the buildings that have been transformed? Did they returned to their original state as pieces of stones? What do you guys think? (Same goes for Katakuri's DF)

No, that buildings did not change back, similar what Crocodile did in Arabasta the buildings turns into sand immediately and not back in normal state after that..

Personally I don't remember actually seeing the ground beneath Doffy turn to strings and then back as it was quite awhile ago, however if that is the case it may all depend on what the user is doing. What I'm getting at is perhaps Awakening is powerful enough that in cases like Doffy where it somewhat acts on its own and only permanently converts objects that the user consciously converts where as unconscious conversions are reverted once the user passes by.

So far there were no strings and mochi-like objects after doffy and katakuri were defeated. I dunno... look forward to next chapters I guess...
The buildings that transformed to strings disappeared when the user is knock out.

@Whiz instead of disappearing they probably became rubbly and fell.
But the buildings were already strings so the strings were gone when Doffy is knock out. Maybe yours is correct because we haven't witness it.
