So here are my thoughts on the Shogun Orochi: Super underwhelmed. Do I think he's going to be a dangerous threat in the Wano Arc? Of course, but I think a lot of us have incorrectly theorized about his role in Wano. Many of us believed he would an opponent for Zoro to take on in some epic battle but quite honestly, I'm getting more of a Spandam vibe out of him. Oda has a trend of putting very weak people in positions of power and you can tell this by a couple of things: 1) The characters tend to be very ugly like the Celestial dragons 2) They have an incredibly spoiled, arrogant, and almost child-like personality and 3) They tend to use guns. If you are a serious One Piece fan, you will have noticed that Oda tends to give guns to weaker or more cowardly characters such as Helmeppo, Spandam, Charloss, low class Marines, etc. with the obvious exceptions being characters like Ben Beckmann and Yasopp.
So considering all of this, I don't predict Orochi will be much of a threat fighting wise. He seems like someone who can be TKO'd with a single hit and I even think someone like Momo will be the one to do it. More likely than not, Orochi will be a "giving orders" kind of villain like Spandam. He will be responsible for much of what is going on without actually being on the front lines. And given the fact that the last two of Kaido's Disasters were recently revealed, and one of them, King, is clearly a swordsman, it's a good bet that he will be Zoro's opponent and I don't see him taking on (or at least defeating) two major antagonists in this arc.
Happy New Year everybody!!!
