Hello? Shanks was in East Blue probably because of Ace. Gol D Roger was his captain and he trusted Shanks with his hat so Shanks was probably looking for Ace to either talk to him or give him the straw hat. Second of all, Shanks did not lose an arm for the Df but for Luffy, as he obvs had conqueror's. He was a skilled swordsman who had went toe to toe with Mihawk and so he coulda killed that sea king easily. Third conqueror's haki is different to the other hakis. Arnament is solid which is like armour and ppl use it to be able to damage Df users and also to increase their power. Katakuri used Observation to move his mochi body around so it would seem like he was a logia when he was moving the insides of his body so no attack hit him. Conqueror's is emitting ur willpower on ppl to do ur bidding. It doesn't really count on the size of the wave cuz that's a bad thing as u could knock out ur own allies. It's about the control. The first step is being able to make everyone around u with a weak will collapse. The second is making a specific person(s) collapse. Third is actually making them submit to ur will. Fourth is making ur will stronger so u can beat other ppl's conqueror's. U can't use a Df to increase ur conqueror's.

Literally no one including Roger's crew knew where Roger's kid was or if it was even a boy or a girl except Garp and Rouge. Even past that Roger's kid was born in South Blue, why in the world would anyone be looking in East Blue for Roger's kid unless Shanks somehow knew Garp had custody of Roger's kid?

Now, it's possible Shanks ended up figuring out Ace was Roger's kid like Whitebeard did. Probably around the time when Shanks actually met Ace in that cave in the New World or started seeing Ace's name in the newspaper. But, definitely not 10 years before the start of the story when pretty much no one outside of that island would have known who Ace was.

If Shanks was actually looking for Roger's kid 12 years before the current story line then it's unlikely he's be looking in East Blue when everyone knew the last place Roger was sighted before turning himself in was South Blue.

This is why I mentioned idk why Shanks was in East Blue back then for such an extended period of time. Reasonable predictions might include: he liked Makino, for the adventure, or he was looking for something most likely to do with Blackbeard. This is Shanks after his initial encounter with Blackbeard where he was scarred and he's been the one warning everyone about Blackbeard before he became the threat that he is now. So, I think it's probably a reasonable idea whatever he was doing in East Blue had something to do with stopping Blackbeard.

However, the likability he was looking for Roger's offspring in East Blue is pretty slim in my opinion considering the circumstances of Ace's birth.

First of all, I understand ur points but think bout it. Garp was in the South Blue b4 he turned himself in. His crew was probably with him and so they would've known Rouge. Idk y Roger would keep the birth of his son from his crew. I mean the man waged war on an entire country becuz of his crew.

Second, Roger gave his straw hat to Shanks. U could say that he believed that Shanks was his successor but that makes no sense as Shanks was probably at Raftel(Laugh tale) and even if he wasn't, it wouldn't be hard for Shanks to find all 4 Road Ponegliffs.

I think that he gave it to Shanks to pass it on to his successor. (Basically imagine Shanks as Jiraiya when the prophecy said that he would change the future through his pupil (Naruto) blah blah blah). Shanks probably did not know where to start or had been to all the other blues and decided to come to the East because he probably figured that if the successor of Roger was gonna be anyone it might as well be his son.

Another reason y I think that Shanks knew that Ace was Roger's son is cuz the WG went to the South to kill every pregnant woman and Roger was obviously not gonna leave his son to die. He wouldn't give it to his crew either cuz that would be suspicious. He gave it to the last person anyone would have expected him to give his child to, Garp. It all fits in. Shanks was gonna give the hat to Ace but Luffy said something that Roger once said and he saw that Luffy was Roger's true successor.

I would really like to know ur inputs and questions cuz I believe that this theory of mine has a good chance of being true.

Also y would Shanks go to the place where Garp lives if not for Ace.

East blue is the Sea Town of two D families ..

Gol D and the biggest d family we know so far, the Monkey Ds

And besides that, East Blue is the most peaceful sea out there, it was already stated..

So it makes all sense for him to be there as a base to prepare to go to the Grand Line ...

Actually the East Blue is the most mystery and fantastic sea, everyone that comes from there is strong, have good sense of "good" and "bad", it is a Magic place

But it would not be strange if there was something else for Red Hair Pirates to be there, Shanks is one of the biggest mysteries in the hole series

Why would he need to prepare for the Grandline? He had already been there and survived, just a kid(teen). He was probably taught by Rayleigh about using a sword. He had haki. He wasn't as strong as 4 years later when he became yonko but Shanks was probably strong enough that he was never in a pickle since he had even gone up against Blackbeard (Whitebeard Pirates) before going to Luffy's village.

It was stated in manga, Shanks said that in the first chapter..

He has never been in a pickle?

He got his face scattered by Teach, he Lost his arm..

If he was this all might that you think since kid, those things wouldn't have happen ..

He could have killed Teach and stopped the Sea King without loosing his arm ... and we don't know nothing about him

People became strong, with time, by living and struggling and improving ...

The fact that he was in Rogers crew doenst make him invincible since the begin

Even Roger went to GrandLine long time after beat Rocks ...

Even Luffy prepared for the GrandLine ....

I can accept any theory or thoughts you have about why he was there, but you deny things that happened and have been stated, you think Shanks is unbeatable since kid...

Sorry brow, but It makes no sense to discuss this kind of thinking

Roger’s crew disbanded 25 years before the current storyline and Roger was executed 24 years before the current storyline. There is an entire year gap where Roger’s actions would have been completely unknown to his crew. Additionally, judging from Rayleigh’s exposition in Sabaody it seems like not even Roger’s right hand kept in contact after disbanding.

Now, I’m not really against Roger’s crew knowing Roger wanted a kid. One of the more recent chapters seems to hint maybe that could have been common knowledge amongst the crew. However, once again no one except Garp and whoever Garp told would have known Roger’s kid was a boy let alone one East Blue.

Tbh, it’d be even more likely that Roger somehow kept this kid safe through his own means as opposed to entrusting the child to Garp.

One big big thing to note is both Rouge and unborn Ace were in South Blue even following Roger’s execution for over a year. If any of Roger’s crew were privy to that information they likely would have given Rouge and Ace shelter. Garp didn’t come for Ace until after Rouge gave birth.

Lastly, Roger had other options than Garp from the perspective of someone who hasn’t seen Roger for a year (i.e. Roger’s crewmates). Whitebeard is one such option.

This is the reason “foresight is always 20/20,” is a saying. Looking back, it’s “obvious,” or “easily deduced,” Roger entrusted his kid to Garp when you haven’t really taken into account all the factors going on during that time period.

Roger’s crew seemingly (judging from Rayleigh) had little knowledge of Roger’s actions and no contact since they disbanded. Roger seemingly didn’t reach out to any of his crew to take care of his kid and instead entrusted the child to Garp. Assuming Roger entrusted his child to someone else as opposed to simply ensuring his wife was safe Whitebeard, Roger’s other prominent rival, would be as good a guess as any. Being that Oden shifted crews and both Roger and WB had several run-ins as well, Roger most likely would’ve known WB’s lean towards family.

For me, I most likely would’ve assumed Roger actually made sure to secure his wife’s and unborn child’s protection before turning himself in.
