Raftel or laughtale...
Jimbei or Jinbei...
Etc etc.. which is the right spelling and share more examples... I forgot some😅😅

So officially it’s Jinbe but the official viz translation is jimbei.
Other translation issues seems to come from language barriers, pronunciation issues and even copyright for example zolo instead of zoro.
For how to pronounce raftel, the anime will get to that eventually 😂😅.
Yeah... it's also because we know that usually Japanese people read 'R' as 'L', so we mix words that really is suppose to be spelled 'L' as 'R', for example;
Reverie, sounds correct, isn't it? But Oda said it is Levely.
For Raftel or Laughtale, in the manga, we already knew, Roger named it after the fact that, he and his crew, 'Laugh' after seeing what's in it, so... i believe it's Laughtale, but Japanese VA said it as Raftel
If you wanna know what's right and wrong pronunciation, you could just search it in this fandom, they're pretty accurate.
Well that makes me trying to avoid spoiling laugh tale’s naming pointless 😂😂
Usually we have to wait until there's an official spelling given in the manga for the things that are debated, it's how we discovered how to spell Oars. Jinbe is spelled that way on his wanted poster so that's the correct spelling.
As Inari47 said Reverie seems like it should be correct because that's an actual word but it appears in the manga as Levely so that's how it's spelled, the same with Mariejois officially being Mary Geoise.
Raftel has been confirmed recently as Laugh Tale though I think that's a retcon on Oda's part because if you listen to the Japanese VA's that is definitely not what they're saying even taking Japanese pronunciations and accents into account.
What do you think?
