Aye so this one probably gonna get more attention than my amazing and objectively correct opening ranking i did, but yea so i will be skipping filler arcs because those arcs are cringe and yea remember that this is not my opinion and in fact is the objective truth and if you think otherwise then you are just objectively wrong. Ok so imma put the first half of a joke in the beginning so you guys would have to scroll through my whole ranking to see the other half, that way it will be more likely you actually read it. So did you hear about the claustrophobic Astronaut……., ok now let's start.
#31. Orange town: Now the beginning of one piece is still good but not as good as later One Piece, so i mean i did enjoy Orange town it wasn’t terrible, i liked Buggy and he was funny, Zoro was cool and Nami was introduced so yea, i mean also the dog was cool and overall it is not a bad arc just not as good as the ones after.
#30. Romance Dawn: aahhh the start of One Piece, i would say it was not bad with the Shanks flashback stuff and Zoro being introduced, but like most arcs in this part of the ranking, it is short.
#29. Reverse mountain: i mean this arc is barely an arc, it is tiny and in the anime is only 2 episodes, i mean it was actually pretty fun and Laboon’s story gets a big bump up after Thriller Bark, also it introduces Vivi and Mr. 9, and Log poses, honestly not a bad arc but it is short and is barely an arc.
#28. Syrup Village: aaah right after our citrus town we get to our sugary village. Syrup Village is the first arc in the show that has the classic One Piece Arc structure i feel like, Heroes land on an island, they explore, meet new people, befriend some of them, the villain is doing his work in the background, you know the drill. But yea this Arc was cool and also introduced a villain that didn’t rely solely on strength and instead was big brain. So yea this arc was ok but not as good as the others.
#27. Whiskey peak: This arc was ok, i liked Zoro’s scene against the bounty hunters, and i guess baroque works being introduced was dope. Honestly it was a decent arc and showed how dangerous the grandline is, not bad.
#26. Jaya: Now this arc felt a bit shorter than i remember, i mean the MONKE was cool and Norlands ancestor who i forget the name of was ok, but the highlight was the Bellamy and Luffy fight and also the encounter with Teach when he told Luffy to follow his dreams, overall a pretty good arc with a lot of setups with greats outcomes.
#25. Little Garden: Now this arc was pretty good ngl, i liked Dory and Brogy and the introduction of Elbaf and also the baroque works are a big antagonist in it too with Mr. 3 wax man doing that whole turning people into wax thing. Also there is that tense scene when Sanji and Mr. 0 have a brief conversation over the Den Den Mushi and damn that was pretty nerve racking. Overall a pretty great arc
#24. Long Ring Long land: This arc gets overhated in my opinion, yea Foxy was a dick but that was the point, it was to show that not everything is fair in the grandline and that some assholes like him cheat. I mean the arc did have a lot of interesting stuff like when in the Davy Back Fight, Chopper was forced to join Foxy’s crew for a little bit, and even then Chopper was crying so much and honestly it made me tear up when chopper was crying over being separated from his friends. But when Robin was switched she was like, ok cool guess i'm here now, which slightly hints at her not being completely loyal to the Strawhats, which is then confirmed once she betrays them. Also the Afro Luffy fight was sick as hell and it was really satisfying seeing Luffy kick Foxy’s ass. I liked this arc a lot and think people just dont like it because of Foxy which is a bummer.
#23. Post Enies Lobby: Good arc, i mean Kody coming back all buff and cool was dope and also Garp being revealed to be Luffy’s grandpa is also dope, and when Luffy got his big ass bounty that was awesome too, idk i just like these post arcs when everything is chill and the audience learns something.
#22. Punk Hazard: Honestly i am not a huge fan of this arc, i mean yea i think it was good but not as good as people say, i liked Law A LOT, Virgo was cool asf, Smoker was dope and his team was cool. I liked Caesar tbh, he was a super dick and he fucking drugged kids which yea thats not great. Also i mean the idea of a super hot and super cold island is awesome but i feel like they should have focused on both sides of the island rather than the majority being in the cold part. But this arc suffers a lot from pacing issues and I feel like episodes went on for a lot longer than they should have and i don't think it was the anime i just feel like the arc was longer than it should have, kinda like Thriller Bark, also the animation was a bit iffy in this part, and I feel like the Dressrosa saga as a whole had animation issues. I did love the end tho with the feast and the G-5 people pretending not to like the Straw Hats while simultaneously crying and respecting them but they can't actually show that since they are Marines. Pretty good arc but overrated.
#21. Lougetown: Lougetown was great to be honest, I loved it. Each straw hat goes off and has a cool, fun, or interesting thing to do, with Zoro buying that sword and the epic scene where he does that old technique with the cursed sword to see if it is compatible with him. or like that time when Usopp earned the goggles by 360 no-scoping the rooster wind thing from super far away, and gives more insight and information on Yasopp. Or with Sanji’s cooking tournament which was super fun. And of course with Luffy who learned more about Roger in that bar place and then Buggy was going to execute Luffy on the same place Roger was but then is saved by his dad but at the time we don’t know is his dad. Yea also this arc introduced Smoker, Tashagi, and Dragon so yea pretty important and pretty dope.
#20. Drum Island: This arc is honestly pretty great, Choppers backstory was sad asf, the doctor lady was cool and also i loved it when we saw Luffy’s determination and his bloody and hard climb up the mountain, that was so damn hardcore. But i feel like since this arc is a bit longer than the previous shorter arcs, the pacing gets kinda slow. And also Wapol is a dick yea, but he is kinda uninteresting and didn’t feel like a challenge for Luffy. But despite that this arc’s positives outway the negatives and is still very great.
#19. Amazon Lilly: this short yet entertaining arc was dope tbh, i like the times when people think Luffy is weak and not shit until he fucks them up and is badass, idk i just love it when enemies underestimate the strength of the protagonists. Also getting into some controversial stuff but i feel like Oda, either intentionally or unintentionally, gave like a sort of women’s rights message but it wasn't too heavy handed (can’t say the same for other media), and it wasn’t like “ooh look these women are strong and we need to rub it everywhere and also make the male in this look stupid” so yea that was good. I mean overall this was a great setup to Impel Down and Marine Ford and also the joke when they were pulling the mushrooms off of Luffy and since the islanders are all women and never seen a penis before, they thought Luffy’s dick was a mushroom and tried to pull it out but since Luffy is rubber the thing stretched really far, so lmao that was hilarious and answers the question of does Luffy’s penis stretch like rubber. So yea i loved this arc for the short time it was around.
#18. Baratie: Honestly this is probably the first arc in the show that i loved, i really liked Sanji and the idea of a floating restaurant is pretty cool. Also damn Don Kreig was honestly a pretty intimidating villain but he didnt even compare to god damn MIHAWK coming in, slicing his ship with easy, and then the legendary fight against Zoro, like hot damn that moment was badass as fuck. Honestly i just like almost everything about this arc, it is just not as good as the ones after but is definitely one of the best in the East Blue Saga.
#17. Levely or Revire idfk why can't we just have One set name, well i mean the Rs are an issue with japanese since the Zoro and Zolo thing: This arc, ohhh boy hot damn, was an exposition DUMP, and i loved it. Not only do we finally see the Holy Land, not only did we see what the revolution is planning to do, not only do we see what happened to Kuma, not only did we learn about Rock D. Xebec, not only did we learn about the big main figure head Im, not ONLY did we see Princess Shirahoshi first see the upper world, but also Luffy’s Bounty got to a goddamn 1.5 BILLION berrys. Just damn this arc was great exposition wise and taught us a lot.
#16. Return to Sabaody: Damn for the first arc after the time skip i loved it, it was just like a few episodes of badassery, with the fake Straw Hats trying to use Luffy’s name and notoriety to cheat the system and get a big crew, and then Luffy and the real straw hats show up and kick some fucking ass. Like damn that was so fun. And I love how they use the pacifistas to compare the straw hats from then to the straw hats of now. Just fun and awesome and I even rewatch it every now and then.
#15. Arlong Park: Holy shit I love this arc, the best arc in the East Blue saga, just wow, Nami’s backstory is so heart touching and really sad. And Arlong is an awesome villain, not only is he super intimidating and strong AS FUCK for what we’ve seen before, but he can’t be touched by the Marines since he bribes them so the Straw Hats have to do it themselves, also after fishman island you really learn why and the fishmen vs human prejudice is fleshed out so the arc gets shinned in a new light. Now the Walk, holy shit that was badass as fuck and Nami’s scene when she stabbed her arm and then Luffy simply walked up to her and gave her his hat, that made me tear up. This arc is just amazing and hooks you into One Piece real quick.
#14. Post War Arc: This small arc after Marineford is honestly pretty damn
emotional, i mean like the moment when Luffy was counting on his fingers all of his nakama was so emotional and made me cry to be honest since he realized that not was all lost after Ace’s death, and if you think about it Ace’s death is really heartbreaking to Luffy since he thought that Sabo was dead so Luffy thinks all his brothers are dead which is really sad. And damn that bell ring and the 3d2y message was also awesome and pretty smart by Luffy. Also Luffy’s backstory in this arc makes Ace’s death so much sader. idk i feel like this arc sets up the next stage of One Piece really well.
#13. Thriller Bark: Now a lot of people don’t like this arc, which ya know i get, i mean the biggest issue in the Arc i would say is the pacing which in the manga and anime is kinda slow, but that and Moria being a meh villain, are the few things i have a gripe with in this arc. I mean I love the Halloween aesthetic and it is really fun to explore this strange, SHIP, yea i mean Thriller bark being a ship is just really interesting and is actually the biggest ship in the series. Also this arc had some badass moments, with Zoro just being an absolute giga ultimate omega alpha supreme badass in this arc, and then Luffy becoming Nightmare Luffy and kicking fucking ass. Also Brooks backstory was really emotional and sad and ngl Brook is fucking hilarious and i love the dude. I mean the entire ending is dope and i feel like the bad pacing kinda clouds everyone’s mind and they probably remember being bored more than remember being amazed, but hey still this arc is pretty awesome and i suggest giving it a bit of love and not hating it just because of the pacing.
#12. Zou: I liked Zou, i mean like that's all i kinda have to say about it, i liked the chillness and exposition dump, i loved the minks, Both Dogstorm and Catviper were badass, Carrot is cool and Pedro is dope. I love that moment when Luffy and the Kozuki clan make an alliance and honestly this arc was great. I don't have many gripes with it and yea it was cool.
#11. Skypiea: Now Skypiea arc is just, MMMMM, good shit. I mean the world building was beautiful and it expanded the world and also it gave more depth to the world and more history, with things like hundred year old conflicts still impacting the Straw Hat’s journey. Also the arc has this great metaphor about ideiginous people and i mean i feel like Fishman island handled the equality and social justice stuff better, this arc still did it fine. Also everyone’s favorite white rapper, Enel or Eneru (god damn it why are Ls such a huge problem for Japanese like theres Levely or Eneru or Zolo like ugh), and Enelru was dope he was like legit intimidating and i was thinking that “oh the show is probably going to forget that Luffy is rubber and have Luffy be electrocuted”, but actually it makes Luffy’s rubber his advantage and wow i like that sciency moment that many things in fiction ignore. Also the fights were sick af, with just Enel kicking ass and Luffy finally hitting him with that bell was so satisfying, not as satisfying as another punch tho, But yea this arc did wonders for the worldbuilding and was an all around joy with a few pacing problems here and there.
#10. Alabasta: The Alabasta arc is the first, HOLY SHIT DAMNN BOI THIS ARC IS FIREEEE, i mean like it had so many things going on yet the audience was still able to keep up with what's happening and were, which is hard to say for some other animes and mangas. And damn so much stuff happened in this arc, I mean we got Ace introduction, Ponoglyphs being a thing, Robin joining, Ancient weapons being a thing, and so much more. Crocodile was the first villain that actually nearly killed Luffy multiple times and was also slick and cool. And Carou was an awesome duck and his human pet Vivi was also there too. Honestly I think everyone knows this arc is dope so yea.
#9. Water 7: Water 7 is just fun, like idk what to say, it is a super fun arc with some much interesting things happening and i mean goddamn superman FRRRRANKKKKYYYY shows up which is SUUUUPPERRR COOOL, OWWW. YEA WE GOT THAT SUPPPPERRR VENICE VIBE WHICH SPICES EVERYTHING UP TO COLA LEVELS OWWWW YEAA. THERE IS THAT SICKKK ICEBURG FELLOW AND THE SUPPPERR GALLEY-LA COMPANY IS EPICC OWWW YEA. I MEAN THE SUPPPPERR PLOT WITH CP9 IS SUPPPERRR COOL AND OWWW EVERYONE KNOWS THIS ARC IS SUPPPPPERR COOLLL.
#8. Impel Down: Impel down, now i mean i recently made a dope and very cool post comparing this arc to Dante’s Inferno, so go see that if you want, but also this arc got more than just references to some 700 year old poem, i mean this arc has BUGGY the god damn clown in it, and we got Jinbe first appearing, Crocodile coming back, Mr. 3 coming back, BON CLAY is back and just a bunch of old faces all joining together to escape this amazingly horrible and terrifying prison. Also Magellan is cool asf with his devilish appearance that just 100% cements the correlation between the Divine Comedy and this arc. I honestly just really like this action packed and honestly emotional arc when Bon Clay sacrificed himself.
#7. Dressrosa: Damn this arc long, imma get the negatives out of the way first. So i mean the arc is long we all know that, but i feel like length isn’t a detriment (Look at One Piece lmao), but the arc is long with some not great pacing at least in the anime, also in this Saga i feel like Toei decided to fuck themselves and stick all your drawing tools up their ass since the animation is just really stiff in this arc and sometimes really undetailed. But yea with that out of the way, I fucking love this arc so much. I mean like we got this awesome Spain + Rome mix and it looks and feels awesome. We also got Law tagging along with the Straw Hats and he is dope as fuck in this arc, and his relationship with the star of the show, the most unchivalris dude ever Donquixote Doflamingo. I mean i love mingo YOU love mingo yes i know you do, everyone loves this guy because of his pure badassery and just his menacing, scheming, dirty, sly, and ruthless personality. I mean his fruit is pretty strong and along with his insane haki he is the hardest opponent the straw hats had to face in the story so far. I mean his group of pirates are also really strong with PIka the giant rock dude that Zoro kicked his ass, and also LAO G, with A G, and i mean yea they were stacked, but the straw hats got some power ups too, with Zoro’s black blade thing and Luffy’s gear 4th which both were enough to deal with these opponents, also they got that nice grand fleet. And of course Rebecca was awesome, Kyros was kool, SABO CAME BACK and damn Luffy’s reaction was just priceless when he saw Sabo. I mean yea that tournament was also awesome i mean i love tournaments arcs they are fun, and this One was super fun. Overall this arc was dope and very good, sure it’s long but hey it’s still great.
#6. Fishman Island: I mean a lot of people don’t like this arc but honestly man i love this arc a lot. I mean it takes place under the sea which is a first for One Piece, also it has some great action in my opinion, I mean like that end fight when Luffy uses conqueror's haki to take down 50,000 fishmen was just the most epic thing ever. And of course general Franky was awesome and I mean like it was just fun. Also this arc fleshes out the Fishman and human conflict with Fishertiger and what he did and the stuff with Jinbe and Arlong. Also the stuff with Otohime was also well done too, and this arc handles racism really well and i love the part when Sanji’s nosebleed causes him to lose a lot of blood which is hilarious, and he needed blood but they setup the rule that a fishman and a human can’t donate blood, so he needs to have some humans do it for him which is lucky. But with Luffy he isn’t that lucky and Jinbe decides to break the stupid rule and donate blood for Luffy, showing that they all have the same blood and we shouldn’t have prejudice with each other. So yea i mean the arc also introduced Joy Boy and the Levely so yea very amazing arc and i personally love it.
#5. Marineford: This Gem of an arc has everything, I mean it has a huge crossover of characters, it's got insane action and a lot of emotional scenes. I mean feels wise, this arc is more known for it’s action but not emotion, yet we have tons of scenes that hit you where it hurts, in the heart. Like that time when Thatch stabbed Whitebeard because of being manipulated by the Marines, and then instead of Whitebeard getting made he just hugged him and forgave him, like wow that humanizes whitebeard and shows that he is the kind of guy that values family a fuck ton. Also that scene when Garp was being conflicted with Ace’s execution, or the time when Oars Jr reached out to Ace after trying to save him, just a ton of these emotional and touching scenes in an arc about war. Also the badassery doesn’t end here, like damn just so many badass moments that i am sure all of you know about. And then the crown jewel of this arc is Ace’s death, man that was so emotional and after the flashback arc after this makes his death so much more emotional too, and Luffy’s reaction is soul breaking as well. Overall this arc is amazing and yet it is still number 5.
#4. Sabaody Archipelago: This arc was STRAIGHT FIRE, like I mean it was sick from a world building perspective, giving us great insight to the Holy lands, Red Line, New World, and all that nice shiz. Also it gave us a lot of information about other pirates, by introducing the Worst generation and also introducing the Celestial Dragons which I think Oda did a great job at making us hate them. And I mean Camie and Starfish man were cool, Duvaal was hilarious, and Rayleigh was introduced so that was just amazing. And the end of the arc was the best part, I mean like Luffy punching the celestial dragon is orgasim inducing, and god damn that fight with Law + Luffy + Kid vs the marines was also epic. And the ending was so soul crushing, seeing the straw hats being picked away and again just like with Ace’s death, Luffy’s reaction was painful to see. But yea this arc is just so fucking good.
#3. Whole Cake Island: Now this is the top 3 and here it gets spicy, each arc here is i would say either a 9.5 or a 10/10, and Whole Cake Island definitely falls under that, because holy shit this arc is good. Though a long one it feels long because it has so much going on and so many things happening. I mean it starts out with the crew tryna get Sanji, then they are trying to win Sanji back, then Joining with Bege to kill Big mom, then tryna escape. A lot happens and it is all so well done. I mean the stuff with Sanji and Luffy is just damn so emotional, and their fight is also incredibly tear jerking and that made me cry like omg. But when they reunite it feels so good and just wow. Also i mean the stuff with Bege was sick asf and the whole plot to kill Big Mom was pretty creative. I mean also the world building was huge in this one, Toto land looks epic and fun and it has an easy to understand hierarchy. Also character wise we got mah man KATAKURI, this absolute badass is just so cool and intimidating, he fucking killed a man with a jelly bean, and while most Big mom pirates are kinda wacky and weird, Katakuri shows a stone cold and hard deminer but underneath that is a chill dude who just loves him some doughnuts. I mean Katakuri is awesome and his fight with Luffy is probably the best in the show, both sides are using their all and Luffy struggled a lot but damn his Snakeman was dope and not to mention the animation for the Anime in this fight was just off the charts insanely good. Overall i think everyone knows how badass this arc is and i know i skipped a ton but yea this arc is just so damn good.
#2. Wano: As a lowlife, subhuman, filthy insectoid, peasantly disgusting anime watcher, i am still yet to even get far into the arc, but this arc still is at my number 2, i mean like this arc is dope and i am sure it will be my number 1 when it’s over. But yea first off lets get the Elephant out of the room, the animation, the animation in this arc is just fucking fire, i mean like after Whole Cake Island the animators finally plucked out the pencil out of their ass and started using it to animate and it shows. I mean right when we got into Wano it had this style to it and idk if Toei got new animators or a new animation director or what but they outdid themselves here and i have gained a sizeable respect for them, i mean they aint no Mappa or Madhouse but they are pretty damn good rn. Also the pacing has been very good lately and this arc looks fun as well to get into more and more. And with that out of the way, the plot is still good asf, i mean Oden is one of my favorite characters and the history of Wano is tragic yet touching, also Kaido is sick and Queen is dope, i am still yet to see what King can do since i am a measly, lowlife, anime watcher, but hey i can’t wait to see more. But like yea i think everyone knows this is a spectacular arc so i need say no more.
👑#1👑. Enies Lobby: Hey man imma be based here and say it outright, i fucking love Enies Lobby, i mean i watched it twice and am probably going ot rewatch it after this, i love this arc so much and i know some of you dont (yea i know who it is and i bet this person knows who they are too), but i mean i just can’t get enough of this arc. Like the action is constant and amazing with each straw hat fighting a member of CP9 who are this badass as fuck group who are practically One Piece’s version of the CIA but cooler, and Lucci is dope and sick and his fight with Luffy is so damn cool. I mean this arc also has a bunch of emotional scenes, with Robin’s I want to live while the Straw Hats were standing on the rooftop, facing down the menacing World Government, not even flinching. That scene still gives me goosebumps and I just wow super amazing. And of course Robin’s backstory was well done as well and her desperation to get back to her friends was also really touching, with her literally biting the bridge in order to not be taken away. And of course the thing that everyone one piece fan says regarding emotional scenes, I cried over a boat dying. I mean this arc introduced Gear 2nd and 3, buster call, CP units, Chopper’s forbidine form, Asura Zoro form, Diable Jambe, Sogeking and Usopp getting Sogeking’s Kabuto. And also FRRRANNNNKKKKKYYYYYYYY. I just love this arc so much and idk if you don’t but hey we all got our favorites and least favorites.
In conclusion imma say that i honestly don’t think there is a necessarily “BAD” arc in One Piece, just mediocre at worst. Remember that this is not my opinion and is fact so if you think anything else than this you are objectively wrong. Oh yea also the answer to the joke is that he just needed more space.
