Well we have seen the theme of the antagonists being too cocky time & time again & eventually that leads to their downfall. Crocodile vs Straw Hats is a good example of that.

I agree. Even though Khalifa was one of the least strong member of CP9, there was no way she could've beat her with her power status in that arc. But rather than their match being a serious fight, I found it more humoring, like Usopp vs. Perona (btw one of the funniest fights in the one piece universe) Also Nami outsmarted Khalifa, I know it doesn't make sense at all but it can't be helped since Nami's fights are not that serious since she is a non-combatant (which makes me sad as a Nami fan, she has so much potential, like everyone)

Yes, they made it like Kalifa was terribly underestimating her enemy. Her extreme arrogance caused her loss, as with most battles the Straw Hats have been through.

Nami didn't have a bounty, so Kalifa was probably overconfident. Such a shame. Both could have had a better development

No amount of power can save someone from being dumb, nami is just smarter than her that’s the truth. Finger pistol & dumb kick are useless against Nami’s mirage tempo.
