Some wonder why Luffy's reward is equal to that of Kid & Lo, although he defeated Kaido, unlike the rest, they defeated Big Mom together ?
-I see the world government wanted to make them equal because they didn't want the world to see Luffy who belongs to the D family as someone who poses a threat to the world government and we know they didn't remove the letter D from Luffy's poster but they wanted to erase it so that the D family name wouldn't spread
-And so they made them equal so that the world wouldn't know that Luffy was the strongest and most dangerous among them
I think Luffy should be worth 4bil while Law and Kid stay at 3bil
People have mentioned this before but I think there's 4 reasons why all 3 of them having the same bounty makes sense:
The World Government wants to cover up the fact that Luffy is Nika/Joy Boy.
As far as the world are concerned, Luffy, Kid, and Law beat Kaidou and Big Mom together as a unit regardless of the finer details. Having all 3 of them share the same bounty reflects that.
Their combined bounty of 9 billion is higher than K +BM's bounty of 8.99 billion which makes sense and should be the case regardless of the individual bounty for each of them.
This sets up Kid and Law as proper rivals to Luffy in finding the One Piece and reaching the final island, giving the former a more elevated status in the plot for, presumably, the remainder of the story.
Also, I don't agree with what some people have said in that they did this to hide the fact that Luffy was the strongest out of the 3. There's an obvious rebuttal to that: Luffy was the only one who was made an Emperor. That should imply to the rest of the world that he's the most powerful out of the 3.
Him being made a Yonko shows he has the most influence, not that he's the most powerful. I agree that they have the same bounty, they all worked together to defeat both Yonko, I would even say that Luffy had a bigger advantage since Kaido had received much more damage than Linlin had before the main fights.
The way I see it, they all equally deserve the bounty
Agree for the first part. It totally slipped my mind for a second that influence matters for Emperors. However, I'm not sure I agree that Luffy had the advantage in his fight. Even though they clashed, I definitely think Kaido was the stronger, certainly tougher, Emperor compared to BM. Kid and Law at the very least didn't require advanced Conqueror's Haki to do damage to her. That, and I think the amount of damage Kaido took before going 1:1 with Luffy was relatively minimal. He basically tanked most of the shots from the Scabbards, along with Zoro and Yamato. He bled, yes, and even got cut a few times. But for the most part, it never seemed like he was worried or felt challenged with those opponents. It was only with Luffy that he really acknowledged a threat, and I think it's safe to say that 90+% of the damage done to Kaidou was by Luffy alone. I don't even think it's fair to say that the scabbards, Zoro, Kid, Law, and Yamato softened Kaido up for Luffy as it didn't seem like he experienced any significant loss in strength, endurance, or stamina post those fights.
Luffy always goes for the hardest fights and we all know law or kid couldn’t win against kaido.
Yes since world government doesn't wanna bring attention to Luffy so they instead put all 3 Bois into the spot light so Luffy will get less spot light
No, i dont really like the facts that they have the same bounty
What do you think?
