That’s why I put him a tier under. Great pirate, but Roger & Whitebeard at the end of their life have cemented their names in the world’s history forever! Xebec was such a menace that they had to erase him from history… feel like it’s just not the same vibe with Shiki.

Breaking out of Impel Down is definitely a great feat! I’ll give him that. I still wouldn’t put him in that tier though bro, just me personally… I’ll meet you in the middle & say that Shiki does have a good case tho.

Didn't Shiki's fleet almost wipe Roger's fleet out? And Shiki wanted to recruit Roger into his fleet (rejected). Also, Shiki was part of Rocks pirates along with WB, Kaido, BM. This guy should just be another beast, just talked about relatively less.

But I think Shiki's attack on marineford was due to emotion towards the capture of Roger.... It was a stupid move by him (and having been caught by Garp and Sengoku).

Like, if WB, Roger, Kaido, Shanks, or Big mom did the same (charging there alone), they likely would've been captured as well.

I love how just because Roger was the one who became the pirate king people just assume he was stronger than other pirates like Kaido and Big Mom, when realistically any top tier could've been the pirate king if they had interest(at the time) and the ability to read poneglyphs

Roger was powerful, and also resourceful and lucky. Story-wise he should've been quite analogous to Luffy, which might even fall under Mihawk's comment on Luffy in Marineford.

@Hereje015 that’s why I have Whitebeard > Roger. I feel like if Whitebeard would have had the ambition of looking for the One Piece instead of just having a family, he most likely could have done so… he did have Oden after all!
