We have
The entire Marine ranking system corresponds in part on strength. We’ve never heard or seen anyone in a great position like that with just leadership qualities or being well liked. I don’t even think it’s possible to be recommended unless you are Admiral level. And the fact the marines let the two admirals fight prove that strength seems to play a part in it.
To be a fleet admiral, you probably have to be an admiral before, which ofc indicates strength, but fleet admiral doesn't mean stronger than admirals
We have heard that the admirals are the strongest individual fighters in the marine, excluding Garp but that's because he rejected the position, but we haven't heard that the fleet admiral has to be the strongest admiral
They fought because they were both candidates for the position, and they both had supporters, and the WG doesn't do things with democracy, which would probably mean war, so they just fought a 1v1 fight instead
But why wouldn’t it? Especially if the last person was stronger than an admiral.
Going by you’re argument, the fight between the two admirals was pointless. And the Marines should have stopped it to insure they didn’t lose two of three valuable assets over a disagreement that could have been solve through a trial of sorts and recommendations from the last fleet admiral. I understand your perspective, but the Marine hierarchy system seems to further imply that one can’t rise to a higher position without Strength being a big factor as well.
He wasn't stronger than an admiral, it took him 10 days in an even fight to defeat Kuzan, they were on the same level he just got a minuscule edge
Sengoku recommended Kuzan
The gorosei wanted Sakazuki
See the problem here? This is why they fought, it was either that or war
True, it did take him a while to defeat Aokiji. But he still defeated him. Even took off one of his opponents legs.
No, sorry I don’t. If the five elders truly wanted that, then the two admirals fighting would have been even more ridiculous(at least going by your argument) and Sengoku recommendation would be mute since the five elders hold great physical and crazy levels of political power.
@Hereje015 You are wasting your time with them... From the beginning all the Admirals are portrayed as equals... that's a fact... I believe that Kizaru would win. He has a better fruit over all. I am guessing that all the Admirals have ACoA and ACoO. Kizaru has the speed and the power on his side .... So better chances Kizaru....( well if his fruit powers weren't nerfed, he would Probably been unstoppable...
Generally I believe to become an Admiral, you need to have power comparable to that of a Yonko. This means that you need ACoA and ACoO and either an Awakend df or ACoC ( if you have both it's even better). The current Admirals all have ACoA and ACoO and awakend df....
@NeteroHyouka How can you say they are equal when each of their Devil fruit powers alone can outshine the other depending on the situation? It’s literally fact in the One Piece universe for people, fighting styles,Haki, and Devil fruits to be better than each other in some shape or form.
@Hereje015 are we really? I could have sworn Akainu ended up getting the W and that the Five Elders have an astounding political sway an seem to be strong enough to take an attack from Sabo. I don’t see anything you mentioned having headcannon feels either, even if I don’t fully agree with what you stated. Or were you trying to say we might have to head that way?
The five elders aren't really confirmed to be anywhere near an admiral or yonko in power, they just hit Sabo, and them being on that level really doesn't make much sense for the worldbuilding
I’ll give you that one then.
What do you think?
