What's the problem with it? Isn't trying to live up to something great something that all Straw Hats share?
@ASimon24 If I say the words "Yamato gender" to you, will you ban me from the forums?
@TwixAshbluff if you discuss Yamato gender again after being warned you will be banned. This is direct from the fandom staff, not my personal opinion or the admins. I suggest you don't test it out as perma-bans have been mentioned by fandom over this topic
I'm not challenging them, I'm asking a completely non-provoking question is all. I genuinely want to know the extent of this whole "No Yamato gender" rule.
The extent is that Fandom decreed Yamato is to be referred to as a male. Any debate or willful disregard will be met with bans across all fandom platforms. If you disagree with the gender then just use the name Yamato and not any pronouns. Again, this is a fadom rule
For me I just think it limits the character. Luffy wants to bea great pirate like Shanks, but in his only way. Zoro wants to be the strongest swords man. That doesn't mean be Mihawk. Being inspired by Oden is great. Go see the world and help people. Just do it their way not a carbon copy. Yamato saying they weren't going to join right after saying they would was a bad choice in my opinion. I hope they return.
As for Carrot I got the feeling she loved the ideal of seeing the world. I don't like the Minks all pressuring her into becoming the new ruler. It seemed like she's forced into something that she doesn't want to do, but there hasn't been a seen about her thoughts on that. I would have enjoyed her joining as a scout and maybe become the ruler of the Minks once she's seen more of the world and discovered herself.
Sadly it seems like Oda is rushing to finish the story. I hope they both return. I bet they will during the final battle with the W.G.
Yamato is way too powerful to join the Straw Hats, she's much closer to Luffy's level than to Zoro's or Sanji's, it would break the crews balance. Why make Zoro fight the enemy's right hand when Yamato is way more powerful?
The only believable option there is Carrot and Oda made up some BS excuse so that she would not join so... none of them.
@Old Druid if someone's really strong... then wouldn't that mean that Luffy would want them on his crew?
Zoro's only use in the crew is being Luffy's "right hand", the crew's second strongest. Add Yamato to the crew and Zoro becomes completely useless, he would be just another fighter.
No zoro is the napper, the most important role, and he is the reason google maps was invented
