After hearing about Kuma and his dad being a new race called Buccaneers I was instantly thinking about Kaido and what race he could be and then I figured it out. Kaido is a Buccaneer but instead of being a descendant of normal giants Kaido is a descendant of Ancient Giants (Don't ask me how that would work) which would explain his size strength and Ancient Giant horns on his head.

I think that’s a good theory considering there’s evidence that “oni” isn’t actually its own unique race, and the only evidence for it is once sentence coming from a murderous madman as he attempted to kill his child

The only confirmed buccaneer is Kuma who is far smaller than kaido and doesn’t have horns
Yeah the theory was that he’s an ANCIENT GIANT BUCCANEER.
Ancient Giants are bigger and have horns, makes sense that the buccaneers descended from them also would.
Kaido and Kuma also both have dark skin, which is a very rare trait in one piece

And also he could literally just be an ancient giant, you haven’t given any solid reasons as to why he’s an ancient giant buccaneer
He could not be an ancient giant.
They have brightly colored skin, and are WAY bigger than Kaido. Kaido isn’t even half as tall as a normal giant, and giants aren’t even half as tall as an ancient giant.
The theory of him being a buccaneer comes from him having basically every trait of a buccaneer that we know of, but he’s also bigger and has horns. (For clarification, those traits are: darker skin, dark hair(in contrast to Lunarians’ white hair), large upper body with small legs, unusual strength, unusual durability and endurance; all things Kaido has)
Buccaneers are descended from Giants.
The major difference between Giants and Ancient Giants is that AG are bigger and have horns.
It just lines up perfectly.

Brudda he an oni it’s not that deep
This makes more sense, considering the only thing pointing to Oni being an actual unique species is a single statement from Kaido as he tried to kill his kid.
Also, mentioning Kaido’s kid, similarly to Kuma’s child, Bonney, Yamato has significantly lighter skin than Kaido and a strange hair color (white that turns blue).
Personally, I think there’s too many similarities to disprove this idea

Brudda it does not make more sense, surely kaido would know what he is and he didn’t say “you are the buccaneer princess” or whatever.
