I honestly feel the whole joke of “Ahhh Character A, how could you do something so stupid and reckless? I Character H will then punch you…..now we shall do this 5000 more times until the manga we star in ends!” to be very repetitive in One Piece. Very rarely in my opinion does the joke actually work, often by building off another joke like Luffy, Sanji and Usopp punching the camel or Nami interrupting Luffy and Zoro’s fight during Whisky Peak. Quite frankly it’s overdone (especially in the anime), even if it’s one of Japan’s most recognizable comedic trope that’s been around for centuries. In fact the only joke that is consistently hilarious every time is Brooks “may I see your panties?” due to how far Oda will wait to use said joke.
