What if Luffy knew that the hat he's wearing was the hat that the King of the Pirates was wore. I think he would make museum in the ship and put it in the museum under lock and key.
Man would be surprised and excited to know the hat was originally Roger's, but he wouldn't make a very big deal out of it to the point he'd lock it away. That's his signature hat, it's valuable but it ain't that dang valuable to him.
