Great Kingdom

Obviously what the One Piece is has been one of the most mysterious questions in One Piece for as long as anyone can remember. I thought of a theory for what the One Piece is and I just want to get it out into the world so that maybe someone can tell me if I'm being crazy or forgetting something really important. prepare yourself for an unhealthy amount of yapping.

What we actually know about the One Piece

First I'm going to go over the confirmed facts and hints about what the one piece could be. Firstly (and most obviously) we know for a fact that it is on Laugh Tale and that it was Joy Boy who left it there. Thanks to Whitebeard we know that it is something of great significance and will change the world when it is revealed. we know that some part of the One Piece is in Wano, or at the very least is connected to Wano. Vegapunk also said that the fate in the world would rest in the hands of whoever laid claim to the One Piece. The real kicker though, and the killer of almost every major theory about the One Piece, is that the One Piece is very funny since all of the Roger pirates burst out laughing when they saw it.

What I think the One Piece is

I want to preface this segment by saying that this is not a perfect theory. There are some problems and potential arguments against it and there's a pretty high likelihood that I'm wrong. That being said, I do believe that there is some sound evidence backing this theory up and I believe this is the best idea I can come up with from the information presented thus far. So now that that's out of the way. My theory on the nature of the One Piece is thus. I believe that the One Piece is the story of Joy Boy, whether that be through the form of a Poneglyph or a mural similar to the one on Elbaph, I believe that the One Piece is a chronicle of Joy Boy's adventures and what he did during the Void Century.

The Evidence

the most significant piece of evidence in support of this theory is that when Roger saw The One Piece he described it as a tale full of laughs (hence why he named the final island Laugh Tale), additionally after Roger had seen The One Piece he openly wished that he could have been alive during Joy Boy's era which would be a natural reaction after seeing all the things Joy Boy did in that era. This would also be key information on what happened during the Void Century which would certainly "turn the whole world upside down" as Whitebeard said.

The Problems

I want to very quickly cover some of the potential problems with this theory, I don't think any of these definitively prove the theory wrong but they do make me more cautious about fully investing in it. First of all, is the fact that Vegapunk said that the fate of the world would rest in the hands of whoever found the One Piece, now this could be explained by information we simply don't have yet. For example maybe this chronicle (Poneglyph, Mural, etc) could have some important secret pertaining to the Ancient weapons. The only other major issue I could think of is what Big Mom said about some part of the One Piece being on Wano or at the very least connected to it, my best guess would be that maybe it has something to do with the Kozuki clan's ancient stone-working techniques (the very same techniques used to create the poneglyphs) but again I'm not certain.

The Craziest Part of The Theory (you can ignore this part if you want... but please don't)

This is the part where I might truly go off the rails crazy about this theory but funnily enough, this is the part that I'm most invested in. If this theory is true then I think it would be very interesting from a meta-perspective because that would mean that in a sense, One piece IS the One piece. What I mean by that is that the whole One Piece manga would then be Luffy's One Piece. For us, the real treasure wouldn't be some world-changing revelation. It would be the stories we told, the adventures we shared, and yeah... the friends we made along the way.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!!

There are three Ancient Weapons in the One Piece world: Uranus, Pluton, and Poseidon. Poseidon is a Mermaid that appears every few hundred years. Poseidon has the ability to communicate with sea kings and maybe even control them. Pluton is said to be a massive and powerful warship which was built in Water 7 during the Void Century and is currently at Wano. Uranus is completely unknown and has been mentioned very few times in the series. Uranus, Pluton, and Poseidon are named after Gods in mythology. Ouranos was the Primordial Greek God of the Sky. I think Uranus is a weapon that allows one to manipulate and control the weather in many ways. What do you think?

This one might be a long one. In the Enies Lobby Arc, we see an orrery of some kind in Ohara, an island that used to be in the West Blue. That orrery depicts Earth having six moons which would explain the erratic weather in the Grand Line. It’s known that there used to be an ancient civilization on one of the moons and that civilization are the ancestors of the Skypieans, Birkans, and Shandorians. That moon civilization had very advanced technology and architecture, but they left due to the lack of resources and they went to Earth which took place over 1,000 years ago. I think that Imu, if he/she truly is immortal, and the old ancestors of the Celestial Dragons are from another moon which is why the current Celestial Dragons wear space suit like outfits (I’ll refer to them as Ancient Celestials for simplicity). I think that the Ancient Celestials went from moon to moon greedily taking what they can in terms of resources, power, etc. and when nothing was left on the moons, they finally went to Earth, but they arrived after the people of the Moon civilization who, by then, greatly befriended the tribes and people that were already there: Giants, Minks, Humans, Buccaneers, etc. and formed a very harmonious, advanced Kingdom. The Ancient Celestials who arrived during the height of that Kingdom were welcomed with great kindness, but they eventually grew envious of the Great Kingdom and coveted the resources, power, wealth, etc. that the Kingdom had gained. As the Great Kingdom continued to rise in power, the Ancient Celestials bided their time, becoming fierce fighters, warriors, and creating weapons. As they did that, they created Houses: Nerona, Nefertari, Donquixote, Jaygarcia, Topman, etc. and the heads of those Houses named themselves Kings. When the Ancient Celestials were ready, they waged war against the Great Kingdom. I think that the people of the Great Kingdom were complete pacifists who had never or at least very rarely knew war or violence. The advanced technology they had was used to harmonize with the land, the sea, the sky, the animals, and the people, all of which was freely shared amongst everyone and was not used for war, battle, or greed. I think they built the Ancient Weapons Uranus, Poseidon, and Pluton out of desperation. As the war was nearing an end, they created the Ponegliffs to tell their story and the Ancient Celestials won soon after and created the World Government. I think Imu created the Five Elder Star ranking system who would “rule” the World Government, naming the ranks after the moons which they came from; Ju Peter, Saturn, etc. What do you all think?

Nearly everyone with the will of D is defiant towards the World Government. They are also defiant towards death. Nefertari D. Lili defied the World Government.

D could also stand for Democracy if you consider the destruction of the great kingdom. The World Government considered the Great Kingdom to be a dangerous enemy, which could be because they had opposing political beliefs. Nefertari D. Lili could have betrayed them to try and prevent a global autocracy.

Ancient weapons are not physically present and unique.

Instead, as the will, dreams and practically the basis of One Piece suggests, the strength and purpose of using these weapons are INHERITED.

Poseidon --> Shirahoshi

Pluton --> Thousand Sunny

Uranus --> The giant laser weapon built by Vegapunk (?)

These weapons aren't really a single, solid thing, but instead are a concept.

I don't know what has Oda said about this (couldn't find anything) so... here's a theory- what if the will of D. is connected to the great kingdom against whom 20 others united to fight. D in my opinion can symbolize the name of the kingdom or the ruling family of that kingdom as it is known that they are enemies of celestial dragons. And they are found in all the seas so they probably escaped to all parts to survive after the war. Maybe joyboy was the ruler of that kingdom and the last island is that only, it's his home. World government tried to erase it off the map too and they could easily have lied that it was destroyed completely but a part of it remains. Joyboy is known to spread happiness and carriers of D. die with a smile on their face so it's highly likely that all 3 of these are connected.

The purpose of the World Government is to prevent the use of Ancient Weapons. This is because they can control the “Army of Giants”, huge and powerful giants (Humanoids and not), with the ability to destroy the (emerged surface of the) planet, literally.

Before and during the Void Century this Army was used negatively (E.g. the war between the Great Kingdom and the future World Government).

Originally, there were Imu and Nika (A Giant), the Moon and the Sun. To stop the use of the Giants, the two they decided to trap (and maybe control by letting out on will) the Army of Giants, creating the Florian Triangle by putting the Three Great Gates in the sea.

The creation of these structure, however, took the life of Nika, whose body/straw hat is now kept in Mary Geoise’s Chamber of Hibernation. On the contrary, however, Imu probably thanks to this event has managed to have eternal life.

The prophecy of the “will of the D.” (D of Dawn) describes when Imu and Nika will finally get back together, opening the Big Three Gates. The day of the meeting will be during an Eclipse (Moon and Sun), followed by a Dawn. This date can be predicted thanks to astronomy, so it is easily deduced by a scholar, or by Roger (who knew he had arrived too soon at One Piece).

The bearer of Nika’s will to free the Giants is called “Joy Boy”. The will of the Giant was always to bring happiness (Joy) and freedom to the world by using the Army of Giants to destroy the Red Line and create a single great sea (One Piece) where all organisms can live and feast together. This will, however, is opposed by Imu, who instead (Living since the Void Century) knows what the Weapon of the Giants can do and wants to suppress its liberation at all costs, preventing anyone from knowing about it (Nika HAD to trap the Army to prevent others from using it negatively, but he wanted to do his will).

The real enemy will be Blackbeard, not Imu or the World Government. Luffy (Joy Boy is the “heiress of Nika’s will to bring happiness and freedom to the world with the Army of Giants”) will meet Imu. The gates will open, and finally the Army will be free. To command it there will be the three Ancient Weapons (Poseidon - Shirahoshi / Pluto - Momonosuke / Uranus - ?).

So, when the Army is free, there will be two ways to use it: destroy the Red Line to unite the world or control the world by force. Luffy will want to achieve the first goal. Blackbeard will want to reach the second.

This is such a huge reveal that I'm surprised that I haven't seen people talk or make a post about it. As of Ch1065, it has now been confirmed that the present timeline of One Piece is technologically regressed world.

This is revealed by Shaka that the futuristic island Egghead is actually the island of the past. Meaning every futuristic techs we saw in this place were common things in the past/Void Century. So we were basically in the primitive period of the One Piece world all along. That's crazy. I mean it does makes sense that we're still using gunpowders, swords and paddle boats, meanwhile these people were using lasers beams and swords, flying using the Anti Gravity Tech(Vegaforce-1) and probably even venturing into the outerspace. No wonder Roger was laughing when he read the tale of Joy Boy and even wished he'd been born in his time, because it all seems to be too ridiculous of a time to be alive.

According to me Nika was a Warrior Leader/God of a alliance of Countries(Wano, Zou and Ryougukyou for exemple) who was at war before with the Ancient Kingdom which was led by Lunarians and later with the Proto-World Government Organisation. Before to die Joyboy creates the Nika Nika Fruit using his old friend DNA awaiting Nika successor.

Roger at Lough Tale knew everything about Nika and Joyboy and orders to Shanks to find the New Nika through the world and find the Nika Nika Fruit and give it to Ace at the beginning, after the death of Rouge, the former Nika Nika Fruit user.

Chopper's fruit is the Mythological Zoan Fruit : Hito Hito No Mi Model God Thot

Let me preface this post with this: I personally don't believe that when Luffy and co get to Laugh Tale, it's going to be one massive info dump. Rather, I think Oda is leaving breadcrumbs and puzzle pieces for the readers that will come together in our heads when they reach Laugh Tale and we'll be like "OH MY GOD! THAT'S IT!" Otherwise, the final island is just gonna be exposition for however many chapters it is.

Now with that being said, I have a feeling that one of the breadcrumbs Oda will drop before Laugh Tale will be the name of the ancient kingdom and it will happen during Wano. Why do I think that? Well, Wano is the convergence point for some of the oldest things in the world of One Piece. We have Zunesha, Toki, the Poneglyphs, the Ancient Weapons and Wano itself which has all but been stated to have been a major player during the Void Century.

Zunesha

Zunesha is the oldest living creature in the world of One Piece. We know it's sentient and therefore, it must know things, specifically, everything that has happened in the 1000 years it's been alive. In chapter 1040, we learn that Zunesha was a companion or nakama (depending on the translation?) of Joyboy's. This makes Zunesha easily the most concrete proof besides the Poneglyphs of what happened during the Void Century and since he is capable of speaking to people, the greatest source of lore I think we've gotten in the story.

If Zunesha is telling Momo that he was a companion of Joyboy and Joyboy is closely associated to the Ancient Kingdom, I don't see how Zunesha doesn't know its name. It's entirely possible then that Momo has already learned it from their conversation in 1040 or even their conversation back during the Zou Arc.

Toki

Now according to the story, Toki was born around 830 years ago (during the Void Century) and was part of the Amatsuki daimyo family of Wano BUT she had never been to her homeland. Hence, why she was curious about it when she first met Oden and why she was traveling through time to get there. So what does this mean? It means that during the Void Century, Toki was somewhere else besides Wano. Where was that somewhere else? Likely, the ancient kingdom.

830 years ago was right at the tail-end of the Void Century which means that the great war that established the World Government was either ongoing, about to begin OR finishing up right before Toki went forward in time. Now we can assume she wasn't an ally of the WG because why would she travel in time if her side won? So it's highly likely that she was an ally of the Ancient Kingdom and therefore, knows its name.

I think it's possible Toki told Oden the name of the Ancient Kingdom and it may even be in his logbook.

Poneglyphs

Wano is the homeland of the Kozuki Clan, the inventors of the Poneglyphs and we know that there are at least 3 there. The Road Poneglyph that Kaido possesses, the blue one in the Skull Dome that Law found and the blue one in Orochi's castle that Brook found. Considering Wano and the Kozuki are so closely tied with the Void Century, I figure the two blue Poneglyphs have some major lore written on them and so far, the only person capable of reading them hasn't gotten to take a look at them yet. Which leads to my next point...

Robin

This is also why I think think the capture of Robin has been played up so much during the Wano Arc. As far as we know, Robin doesn't know the Ancient Kingdom's real name but we know she was a scholar of Ohara. We also know that the WG was so scared of letting someone even speak the name that they silenced Prof Clover on the spot.

I speculate that the WG wants Robin so badly, not only because of the Ancient Weapons but because if she learns the name of the Ancient Kingdom, with her Oharan knowledge, she is going to be able to put some pieces together relatively quickly. After the raid is said and done, Robin will get a chance to look at those Poneglyphs and maybe even solve a big piece of the True History puzzle.

Conclusion

So Oda has written in three ways for the SHs (and us) to learn the name of the Ancient Kingdom during Wano: Through Zunesha, through Toki mostly by way of Oden's logbook and the Poneglyphs on Wano when Robin gets a chance to read them. The last one is especially important since based on how Luffy behaved on Sabaody, I don't know if he'd want to learn anything from Zunesha or Oden's logbook. If the SHs find out the name of the Ancient Kingdom in Wano, then it will be once Robin gets a chance to look at those Poneglyphs.....

1. Laugh Tale

The final island in the New World and holding the greatest treasure One Piece, Laugh Tale holds all the secrets of the world. At some point, Joy Boy came across an island, which would later be named Laugh Tale by Gol D. Roger, and left behind a treasure that would come to be known by the world as One Piece. The only way to reach this island is to have all 4 Road Poneglyph, making almost impossible to find the island itself.

2. Great Kingdom

Lost to the history, this great kingdom once was a powerful and higly advanced civilization. The kingdom itself thrived during the Void Century 800 years ago and was supposedly destroyed by the 20 kingdoms now known as the World Government. It's said that the 3 Ancient Weapons came from this kingdom. The true name of this Kingdom is yet to be known.

3. Moon

The moon has always been integral part of the story from the Kozuki Clans to the Minks tribe. There're total of 6 moons in which one of them having the ancient city called Birka also known as Fairy Vearth by the Skypieans. It was originally the home to Moon People, the ancestors of the Skypieans. The Moon People were shown to be highly civilized by their technology and architecture perhaps they have connection to the Great Kindom?

4. God Valley

The legendary island in which the God Valley incident took place. Here the final battle between the combined effort of the marines led by Garp and the Rogers Pirates, against the Rocks pirates took place. The result of this event would give Garp the title of "Hero of the Marines". However the island ends up mysteriously vanishing, leaving no trace of existence. It is likely due to the Buster Call ordered by the Marines to cover up whatever secrets the island held.

5. Marijoe

Although it's well known as the capital of the World Gov, this place still holds many secrecy. This is also where the highest power of the World Gov the World Nobles and the Five Elders resides. But as the story portrays Imu being the true ruler of Marijoe. The Reverie is held here every 4 years, where the 20 nations of the World Gov gather. Somewhere within the Pangaea Castle of Marijoe holds a national treasure that could shake the world, as stated by Doflamingo.

6. Florian Traingle

The Florian Traingle, one of the biggest mysteries in OP. It's a stretch of sea between Water 7 and Fish-Man Island. Covered in dense fog blocking all sunlight, over 100 ships goes missing within it every year. But the real mystery of Florian Triangle are the 3 giant shadowy figures looming within the mist, perhaps they're the real reason that many ships and people disappear without a trace.

7. All Blue

There's a point in ocean where all the blue seas connects and marine life of all 4 seas co-exist. It is truly an every chef's dream. It is only speculation if this legendary sea even exist, but many theories suggest that it is yet to exist through the destruction of the Red Line, connecting all the seas and destroying the Fish-Man Island in the process.

8. Elbaf

Considered to be the strongest nation in the world, which even the Marines feared. Elbaf is the kingdom where the giants inhabits said to be the strongest race as even Big Mom wants them as an ally. Much is yet to know about this kingdom, other than it's ruled by a monarch and it is suspected that the World Tree exist here.

9. Enies Lobby

Also known as the Judicial Island of the World Gov and the former HQ of CP9. After the events of the Water 7 saga, Enies Lobby was destroyed by Buster Call, however the island itself was still intact. But what makes this place into this list is the structure of the island and the environment surrounding it. The island is constantly shrouded in day-time even during the Aqua Laguna and the main land is suspended in mid air supported by thin bridge of land, under it is a large waterfall of void.

10. Tequila Wolf

Although it's dubbed as a country, it's actually a construction site of a massive bridge. One of the least talked mystery of OP, but the bridge itself holds great importance as it was meant to connect 2 important places. Upon demand of the World Nobles, this huge project has been going on for 700 years since the early days of the WG. After the 2 year time-skip the slaves who were forced to work there were freed by the Revolutionary Army and it's currently unknown what happened to the place.

Note: There were few places almost made it to the list, like the moving Onigashima. Let me know if there're any other islands that deserved to be on the list.🗺

Let's face it and narrow the possibility down to who Gomu Gomu no mi might be or might not belong to previously.

Firstly let's lay some ideas about why is this particular fruit is important. We know for a fact Shanks had it and it was stolen from the world Government. So, that implies that it was important to the world government. Ok so, if the government had it in its original form(fruit form) that means either the world government "killed" someone and got it after that person died or it was recently found and had no previous owner.

1. Gol D. Roger was killed by the government*

2. Ace's mother died and the government might have hands-on it afterwords*

3. Luffy's mother could have been the previous owner and Garp might have given it to the Navy to store it for Luffy after Luffy decides to join Navy*

4. Or it has an important history related to the Void country*

5. Joy-Boy could have been the previous owner*
