Gura Gura no Mi

Spoiler alert from Marine Ford Arc !!!

since until now (as far as I know) there has not been an explanation of how exactly Blackbeard managed to have the Yami Yami No Mi and the Gura Gura No Mi at the same time, how do you think he managed to have two Devil Fruits at the same time ? (If there is already an official explanation and I don't know it, sorry for not knowing it)

My two theories are: Ace is stronger than Law or Blackbeard getting the Gura Gura no Mi made him weaker. Here are the two theories:

Ace is stronger than Law. Ace held his own against Blackbeard, Blackbeard using the Yami Yami no Mi. Sure Ace eventually lost, but he managed to survive a while. Meanwhile, Law lost to Blackbeard, Blackbeard using the arguably weaker fruit in his arsenal, the Gura Gura no Mi. For Law, when Blackbeard started using the Yami Yami no Mi, Law lost the battle. If Ace can hold his own against the Yami Yami, and Law can’t, Ace must be stronger. Following this theory, these characters should be stronger than Blackbeard: Mihawk, Kaidou (easily), Big Mom, Dofi (possibly?), Shanks (even with one arm), Zoro, Luffy (easily), Rayleigh, Aokiji, Van Auger (possibly), and maybe even Killer. From the marines, this theory makes the following characters able to beat Blackbeard, Akainu, Rob Lucci, Kizaru, Fujitora (with struggle possibly?), Sengoku, and Garp.

Now my other theory is that having the Gura Gura no Mi made Blackbeard weaker. If Blackbeard needs to use the Yami Yami to beat Law, with the Gura Gura still having a lot of power, then Law and Kid could beat with him some trouble, but still come out on top. This would also mean that Ace and Law are more equal in power. This theory makes sense because Law is an extremely strong fighter, and still lost. If Blackbeard got weaker it would also mean Law isn’t as strong as we thought he was, because if Blackbeard got weaker Law could probably do better than he did against Blackbeard.

So, we all know that Whitebeard had the Gura Gura no Mi's powers, right? And we know that Blackbeard now has the Gura Gura no Mi's powers after Marineford. Isn't it interesting how he took the powers?

One of the Yami Yami no Mi's passive abilities is the ability to nullify Devil Fruit users, any kind, especially Logia Fruit users since they cannot transform into their element. Blackbeard put a cloth over Whitebeard's body using his Devil Fruit.

Maybe the Cloth allowed Blackbeard to absorb Whitebeard's fruit abilities, using alot of Blackbeard's energy, since it covered Whitebeard's full body. If this is true, any Devil Fruit user is in danger because of this, what would happen if he for example absorbed the Mera Mera no Mi or Pika Pika no Mi?

If it is like this, this would make Blackbeard insanely overpowered, but he need's to kill the user, and if the user is stronger there is no chance he wins. The only reason he beat Whitebeard because his entire crew attacked and Whitebeard was at the brink of death.

As we all know, Marshall D. Teach, the Commodore of the Blackbeard Pirates, has two Devil Fruits, the Tremor-Tremor Fruit and the Dark-Dark Fruit. He mastered them pretty well and he’s a master of Armament Haki and Observation Haki. Do you think he will awaken his two Devil Fruits if he hasn’t already? I think he will awaken at least one.

I won’t get into the details yet because im not completely sure yet. However, for this theory to be true I need to know if Whitebeard had the Gura Gura no mi while he was on Rocks’ crew.

Personally, I think the Isle-Isle Fruit is interesting. However, the Warp-Warp Fruit, Strong-Strong Fruit, and Sick-Sick Fruit are OP irl.

I'm curious to see what yall think abt this cuz I have no clue

So my theory is that Blackbeard awakening for his yami yami no mi is that. He will be able to permanently remove devil fruit abilities and store them in a arsenal. (Ex) he could take magellans doku doku no mi and store it in a arsenal for later being able to switch it out for say the gura gura no mi. What do you all think

In chapter #1064 we had a nice clash between Law and Teach, where Teach can physically interact with Law's Kikoku coated with KROOM (Awakening).

First of all, let's first understand how Kroom works and how Law coats it in his sword.

After Law coats his sword with KROOM she receives new properties through the Space Manipulation of the Ope Ope no Mi, one of which is intangibility, she simply ignores any Matter. In addition, KROOM has immunity to Haki's basic defenses. Even though Big Mom is superior to Law in Haki, she cannot nullify the Law Fruit's powers.

But, as we saw in the previous chapter, Teach was able to physically interact with something intangible. With that we only have 1 plausible explanation.

The Gura Gura no Mi provides the user with the ability to manipulate space and also gives the user resistance to space manipulation, being able to reach intangible beings or objects.

I always imagined that the animation of the breaking air was just an aesthetic issue and that it was only related to vibrations and shock waves. But it's actually interacting with space.

What could this skill provide?

Whitebeard/Teach can hit intangible targets or even prevent attacks from targets that have spatial intangibility like Law. On a larger scale, Whitebeard or Teach could hit Naruto's Obito, for example, even if he was intangible. Space Hax is not the area that I have the most knowledge, those who understand more about it can comment what they think.

Why didn't the gura gura no mi regrow?

When you think about it the user of it which was Whitebeard (R.I.P) did in fact die but Blackbeard only took its abilities but if a new fruit is made when the user who ate the fruit died wouldn't that mean theres a Gura Gura no mi somewhere out there because Whitebeard was the one who ate it?

So recently i was thinking about how weird Blackbeard's devil fruit is as a Logia. He cannot turn intangible, and even more, he feels extra pain on attacks even if he can recover. For a while (even before 1044) i had been thinking "What if BB's fruit isn't a logia, but a Zoan?" That type of fruit could potentially give him the powers he utilizes so much. But specifically, i was wondering if Zoans, especially perhaps human type zoans, may have more utility than we think

Just think. With most fruits (paramecia, and logia) attrubutes are given directly to a person. However, with Zoans, Oda seems to imply that these fruits serve somewhat as their own entities, in that they can affect a users mind and personality. Given that zoans seem to possibly be their own entity, i wonder if Zoan type fruits would be able to eat opposing types such as a Paramecia or Logia

I believe the separation here would be important. We've never heard of an inanimate object eating a Paramecia fruit, leading me to believe that between devil fruits, there might be some distinction between those of the 'living' and 'inanimate' class.

Essentially, my thought here is that anyone can eat two devil fruits, provided that they are of these opposing classes, otherwise there may be certain death.

Thus, if this theory is correct, then BB having a Zoan and a Paramecia, rather than a Logia and Paramecia, makes a lot of sense.

This theory also leads to a different theory. What if the Hito Hito fruit model: Nika is one such example of this type of fruit

My thoughts here are that, while overall Luffy's fruit as a Zoan make sense, i still find his overall powers to be strange. For example, all mythical Zoans up until now were from real-life creatures, not the OP world. So why is it that suddenly there is a Zoan exclusive to a mythical figure from OP? Does that mean that there might eventually become a Hito Hito no Mi Model: Enel? Further, how is it that Luffy has an element-based awakening, when so far we have never seen Zoans exhibit that property. It sounds more like Luffy's fruit is both Paramecia and Zoan, something which even Kaido alludes to.

My theory here, is what if a certain individual in the past. Perhaps someone named "Nika" performed this feat of mixing two devil fruits. Perhaps being some human type fruit and the original Gum Gum fruit. Then, after he died, this mixture of fruits have birth to a brand new devil fruit, exhibiting the properties of both a Zoan and Paramecia

TL;DR: What if the current classing of Devil fruits are wrong, and they are only limited to the 'Animate (Zoan)' and 'Inanimate (Paramecia and Logia)' class. And what if, on top of this, a person can eat one devil fruit of each class, leading to a hybrid fruit. This would explain both Blackbeard's and Luffy's unique devil fruits.

I just made a theory about it. As we seen in Marineford war, when Luffy was going to hit blackbeard, he created some short of blackhole. I think that he absorbed Whitebeard with one of these. And about how did him survived, let's see. No one can eat more that 1 fruit, but then, how did he survived if he ate 2 fruits? Well, he's alive because he ate 1, the Gura was eaten by Whitebeard, that probably got absorbed into a blackbeard's blackhole, the only problem I find in my theory is that, we still don't know how blackbeard's blackholes actually work, so till we discover it, there's my theory. :D

HI! i can´t remeber if i already said this on here but i think i know how teach took and ¨ate¨ the gura gura no mi. first off how, and thats relativly easy to answer, he used his devil fruit to take his, not the power of the fruit, but the ACTUAL FRUIT FROM HIS BODY (its posible that he used the fact that if a devil fruit user dies their fruit is put back in rotation by tranfering to the nearest normal fruit and brought a aplle or banana or something with him under the curtian). secondly how he ¨ate¨ it he put in his rings on his fingers, he figured out how the marines did it, and did it on his rings, and since its not a zoan the rings wouldnt grow a face or anything, they would just cause cracks when ever teach wanted them to, also think about it, we have never seen teach use the fruit on this feet or bullets from his gun, ONLY HIS HANDS WHERE THE RINGS ARE.
