He Was The Priest of the Ordeal of String, so it's entirely possible he ate it, but didn´t use it as well as Doflamingo, cuz he just left the string there for people to get trapped, so maybe? And Doflamingo ate the fruit since he (maybe) died from Wiper's reject dial.

In Mochi-Mochi No Mi wiki, the Amadare Moch (Rainfall Mochi) literally reminds me of Ito-Ito No Mi's Billow White.

I saw a reddit somewhere with the confusion of Doflamingo's ability to "fly". For some reason people are confused and I'm here to clear that confusion up, I guess. He doesn't really fly per say but he glides kind of. He attaches his strings to clouds (don't know how that works but it's an anime so really there's no real logic to it) and stands on them. He basically just jumps and glides from string to string. Kinda like a spider's web. His abilities are interesting indeed as well as the character himself. So, I don't mind making a post like this. And if you're wondering how I know it's because Law himself states this fact. Anyways, if you guys are confused about anymore One Piece facts or things that happen in the show, then just let me know and I'll do my best to research and explain.

Doesn’t Buggy’s Devil Fruit (Chop-Chop/Bara-Bara) counter Doflamingo’s fruit? (String-String/Ito-Ito) completely? Doflamingo’s fruit slices people to ribbons, but Buggy is immune to being chopped. Just a theory but I’m not sure. Thoughts?

Awakening is when a devil fruit user masters their fruit to the fullest allowing them change their landscape or environment to nature of their fruit and it the words of Luffy himself it would be no longer a mere paramecia. Now say if Luffy were to awaken his devil fruit it would boost his powers immensely to the point i feel like he would be Yonko level at least and it would also serve as a way of blocking attacks and rubber would be very useful in that instant, another thing it would be a great match for Blackbeard's Gura Gura no mi. It would be hella versatile too.

But it is never gonna happen as Luffy's paramecia is different from those introduced already see with Doffy he could produce strings without awakening but as for Luffy he is a rubber man thus he can't produce rubber as he is rubber so he can't produce rubber in the same sense Doffy produces Strings or Katakuri with Mochi. And quite frankly it doesn't suit Luffy at all as it could be controlled from afar while Luffy is a more of a beat em up type of guy and i don't think Luffy would use it strategically enough for it to be an advantage to him but nonetheless it will not happen this way mabye a different kind but not this one.

What are some good Devil Fruits if you wanna live a quiet life or don't wan't to get caught by the government.

Logias might be a good choice for it, since you're immune to basically everything in the normal world. But you would have no place to stay since every government would come after you for your powers.

So Paramecias are your best bet for a normal life or wanna stay hidden under the radar.
