While watching another anime, I stumbled upon a reference to the Japanese folk story of Momotaro. I discovered this story was connected deeply to the plot of Wano country arc. I will summarise the story:

A small boy was found by two people inside a giant peach in the river. They named him Momotaro (similar to both Momonosuke and Luffytaro). Even when he was little, he was strong enough to cut trees with a kitchen knife. After he matured, Momotaro left to fight a band of demons (onis), that ruled the land from an island called Onigashima. On his way, he used Kibi Dango (Otama's df), to tame a dog (Yamato), a Monkey (Luffy), and a bird (Marco). Together, they defeated the Oni king (Kaido) and his subordinates, and forced him to cut one of his horns. Momotaro became was made a hero when they returned.

What are you thoughts? Can you figure out the parts I couldn't (the symbolisation of the Peach, the river and the parents)?

When Marco was a child,he was severely injured when he was sprinting up the stairs. Just then,a woman with long,raven hair asked him if he was hurt. She then used her healing powers on him and he was able to stand up once more. Just as the woman turned to leave, Marco asked her if he could be her apprentice as he was spellbound by her powers and he wanted to help people like her. Smiling,the woman,who was actually a cherry blossom tree nymph named Sakura,took him in,

Many years passed and Marco is now an expert medic. He bade Sakura farewell and joined the Whitebeard Pirates. Still,he never forgot about his mentor and he would visit her every time he’s off duty.

Luffy: Infernape

Infernape fits Luffy a good bit considering Luffy has fire based attacks while the animal he would be would obviously be a monkey confirmed by Oda, and his Devil Fruit is the Sun God Nika Fruit with Infernape being based on a mythology god being the Monkey King or simply Sun Wukong. Plus, the rings on Infernape resemble Luffy's eyebrows and hair when he's using his awakening as a little touch.

Zoro: Sceptile

This was honestly a tricky one between Gallade and Sceptile as either one could fit Zoro as their main ace. But I ultimately choose Sceptile due to being a grass type which fits well with Zoro being called "Moss Head" by Sanji and the simple fact Sceptiles main stab attack is "Leaf Blade" which fits well since Zoro is a master swordsman.

Kaido: Gyarados

Some of y'all might not be familiar with Kaido's Devil Fruit and it's origins? But if you're not, let me give you a little bit of info. Kaido's fruit is the Fish Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon. Kaido's Fruit is inspired by the legend of a carp swimming up a waterfall in the process of becoming a dragon if successful. The same lore applies with Magikarp since at a certain level, Magikarp evolves into a Gyarados which just so happens to be a dragon. Also, there's the fact Gyarados can also fly.

Marco: Moltres or Ho-Oh

Both Moltres and Ho-Oh are based on the same mythical bird the Phoenix. It's crazy to give characters a legendary Pokemon, but these two are the closest to fitting Marco I know considering Moltres emerges from volcanoes similar to how a phoenix when rebirth from death emerges from a pile of it's ashes with Ho-Oh being able to heal and or revive the dead. Though Marco hasn't revived the dead, that makes me wonder if his Devil Fruit awakening would give the user the ability to revive the dead?

Hi guys. For my next post might interest y’all. We all saw how Prime Rayleigh could easily block Apprentice Marco with just one or two fingers. Even though it was said disrespectful in a way. But what if it was Current Marco who went against that Dark King himself? How much difference, if not successful, y’all think would make?
