I’m exhausted and sleep deprived, but I just noticed after years of watching OP WB doesn’t have a beard he just has a moustache
A rival is not the same as a bad guy
There’s a 0% chance of Shanks being a bad guy. The only question is whether or not Shanks and Luffy fight because of Barto being a dumbass and whether Shanks keeps the hat of gives it back to Luffy
Wasn’t Shaky literally a member of the Rocks pirates?? There’s no way she’s Rock’s daughter in that case
Well I can’t speak to the ads on Crunchyroll since I have a premium account. I would recommend trying it on a different device if you go back to Crunchyroll. However Netflix would be a good option if you’re at Enies Lobby. They have the sub and dub if you want to check it out and have plenty of episodes. I usually watch on my phone or steamdeck and don’t have any issues so it might be an issue with the TV or the version of the App for the TV. If you’ve got a console you could try playing it through the console version of the app instead. Those would be my suggestions
Hulu has up to 698, Pluto has up to 746, Netflix has 1-574 & 1089-1117, Crunchyroll is the only one who has the entire series so it depends on where you are in the series. Anything after Dressrosa and Before Egg Head will require Crunchyroll if you want to watch it legally in HD. What problem are you having with Crunchyroll and what device are you using??
Again no because of the scene with Sengoku where he literally says he knew about Law the entire time and wanted to meet the boy Corazon disobeyed orders and sacrificed his life to save. If Law had at any point in time joined the Marines the very first thing Sengoku would have done is met with him. The fact that they met for the first time on Dressrosa and the entire conversation they have proves Law was never a Marine, which means he can’t be a member of sword
No because one Law was never a Marine and you have to be a Marine that’s resigned on paper to join SWORD, second Sengoku the Fleet Admiral had never met Law until after Dressrosa, despite being fully aware of Law’s connection to Corazon. That entire scene never would have happened if Law had joined the Navy at any point in his life
I like them both equally, but if I had to pick one probably Sabo. Watching his story really made him seem like the best fighter of the 3 and seeing how fast he improved was kinda crazy. I think if we’d spent just a little more time with Ace, like have him travel with Luffy for a full arc then I’d probably have chosen him
Which I think just goes to show how good Oda’s writing is because despite Ace’s limited appearances, we have a great sense of who Ace is as a person and his story, even though we don’t really get to know him know him
@Blue fighter15 I would imagine the calm belt is like a wall with a small gap at the very very bottom, so there are currents, but there down at crust level so anything above that small gap is completely still. What I can’t figure out is the water displacement causing the world to sink
@TheMasterLifeForm Whoever said that is wrong, Luffy’s power is his Haki he was not born with the power of the Nikka fruit just like how Naruto wasn’t born with Kurama. That said you’re talking about anthropomorphic chakra vs a literal God who can supposedly do whatever he wants. Obviously the actual Nikka, if he exists, would win
Oda wrote a whole piece about how this works but essentially once a certain % (1/3rd I think) of your body is below the waves you cannot physically move and basically become like an anchor or wrench tossed in water. Interestingly enough Oda does specify moving water aka waves doesn’t take away your abilities or weaken you. So apparently that’s part of why Brooke can run on water without becoming weak or losing his powers, because normally any still water like a pool, pond, or even a puddle should at least weaken you a little bit. So in short it’s simply not possible to get into a floating position on the ocean without first submerging yourself below the waves at which point you become paralysed and sink anyway
This was also an important point in the debate over whether or not it would be worth it to feed a ship a DF, since according to the explanation given by Oda as long as enough of the ship is above the waves the ship shouldn’t sink or become weaker
@NLMani19 Personally I still like the idea of Imu being an Emu because it’s not only really funny, but would make them a crazy fast tank🤣
@Httpedrokkk From what I can tell Hige means Beard, Moustache, or Whiskers only when written using Kanji like this 髭 or this 鬚. When it’s written in Hiragana like this ひげ or Katakana like this ヒゲ it specifically means Beard or Beards. Moustache in Hiragana is written like this 口ひげ which means Kuchihige.
Oda writes White Beard like this 白いひげ, which has the character for white followed by this character い from 老い (Oi) which means old/old age/old man, then the characters for beard. White can also be written as this 白い or just 白. Based on all of that I can’t help but see this as a deliberate spelling choice by Oda who wanted the character to have that iconic moustache, but wanted to call him White Beard because it’s inline with name Black Beard who was also going to be a member of White Beard’s crew
I’m exhausted and sleep deprived, but I just noticed after years of watching OP WB doesn’t have a beard he just has a moustache
Big Mom definitely gets underestimated the most. Second is probably Shanks because he’s got limited feats and is the one I see get shit on the most in general across multiple platforms without him being directly brought up
Big Mom rarely even gets brought up which I think makes her the clear winner. Shanks on the other hand will be mentioned in name only in a video on Elbaf and for every 2 comments I see talking him up there are 6 calling him a rat and the weakest Yonko
BB by comparison only seems to get complaints about his feats being largely off screen, but people tend to agree he’ll be a significant threat
Then Kaido, Luffy, and WB all get plenty of love from fans
@Monkey.Dree No it’s in the anime too. The title of episode 3 is literally called “Morgan versus Luffy! Who’s the Mysterious Pretty Girl?” With the mysterious pretty girl being Nami who shows up at 10:35 where she ties up two marines and then starts going through Captain Morgans office, she then finds a red wall safe and inside is a calling card from Buggy who already stole the map of the Grand Line she was looking for
@SkywalkerTC Garp saying he’s proud of what Luffy’s done is likely him referring to all the good Luffy’s done by taking out pirates like Crocodile, and Doflamingo that were hurting civilians and getting away with it. Garp was certainly not happy about all the fights Luffy picked with the Navy and World Government because he doesn’t want to see Luffy executed
When he says it’s not enough it’s probably in reference to exposing/stopping the Navy and World Governments corruption, since we know Garp stayed a vice admiral to avoid all that, and because he’s a part of the same group as Fujitora, Aokiji, and Smoker who love the Navy and believe in what it stands for, but hate the corruption
He wanted Luffy to follow in his footsteps, but he never would have wanted Luffy to go beyond a vice admiral position for the same reason he didn’t which was corruption and bureaucracy. Making Luffy a marine was also a way to keep him out of trouble while making sure he could live a good life
So I don’t think Garp had any big plans for Luffy or that the Marines were a means to an end. If Garp had any plans for Luffy as a Marine I think it would be taking over Garp’s role and making sure that there continued to be good strong marines that believe in justice and don’t succumb to the corruption
Basically what they did for Shells town was take what the anime did and expand on it. In the anime Nami is added as a background character stealing both from Alvida and breaking into Morgan’s office to steal a map of the grand line. In the anime version I think it’s only two short scenes, one where she’s sneaking around and commenting on the noise outside and one where she opens the safe and there’s a calling card from Buggy who’s already stolen the map. Which sets up and leads into her encounter with the buggy pirates
For the live action version Orange Town had to be changed a lot because it’s just too anime to be adapted the same way the other arcs were, and there were things they just couldn’t do budget wise like Richie and actually blowing up the town. So as a result a lot of the Orange Town dialogue and interactions between Nami and Luffy had to be done in Shells town instead
By merging Zoro’s introduction in Shells Town with Nami’s introduction in Orange Town they’re effectively giving each character half of their original introduction time. It works out fine in terms of the overall season, but the yard scene suffers the most as a result and basically loses half its original purpose, only being kept as a way for Luffy to meet and free Zoro
Without spoiling anything there’s a good reason why Koby’s goodbye isn’t as emotional
Also in regards to the flashback if you look closely you’ll see he wasn’t nervous. His facial expression goes from confusion to curious at which point he smells the fruit, glances over to Shanks and the others as if to ask them about it but sees they’re busy, then proceeds to eat the fruit while acting disgusted. Once he’s finished he has a calm neutral expression on his face as if he’s done nothing wrong. Any sense of nervousness you got is a result of the ominous/mystical music they used while the DF was on screen, the actor glancing over at Shanks and the crew, and the actor being a kid in a big expensive production. They did not deliberately change why Luffy ate the fruit
Garp has never actually chased after any of his family to our knowledge. He didn’t chase after Dragon when he became the world’s worst criminal, he didn’t chase after Ace, even though he wanted Ace to be a Marine because it was the only way to save Ace if the truth ever came out, and he only seriously chased after Luffy once to prove to Sengoku he wasn’t letting Luffy escape out of nepotism. As for why he doesn’t that’s been mentioned in both Marine Ford and recently in the live action, Garp doesn’t want to see his family up on the execution platform
Plus Garp himself carries the will of D. which is why he’s declined every promotion to Admiral, because even he doesn’t want to do things the world governments way and would rather serve out justice in his own way. Garp is also the one who trained Aokiji who follows lazy justice and acts only when deemed necessary. This is pretty similar to how Garp acts
@Monkey.Dree I don’t think any crew worked exactly like White Beards, but Big Moms sub crews had to marry into the family, Luffy’s sub crews copied their ceremony from the White Beard Pirates, and Black Beard also mimicked White Beards crew structure. Since Shanks was a part of that previous generation and was a part of the Roger Pirates, I could see him wanting to have all the crew on one ship like Roger, while still having some type of sub crew command structure for the actual crew since it’s the established norm
This would make sense since Oda also likened Shanks relationship with his sub crews to the straw hat grand fleet. I took that as a reference to them not paying tribute since that’s what was mentioned by the crews in the chapter. However it also could have meant that while Shanks wanted everyone on one ship like Roger, instead similar to Luffy he was talked into protecting a bunch other crews. This lines up because Shanks would essentially be copying the two biggest men in his life, Roger the man who raised him and White Beard, Roger’s rival who he respected
It also solves the issue of the Red Hair pirates feats. Particularly Kaido and the Navy both backing down over 1 ship, because that 1 ship is the actual Red Hair fleet and contains all the sub crews capable of fighting, while the other ships are simply using a name and would never actually show up. It also explains Big Mom wanting Giants because she could do what Shanks did to Kid and wipe out Shanks ship in one go, rather than try to fight well balanced quality with overwhelming numbers
