The idea of YC1+ being headcanon doesn’t really work because every crew has an established number 2 and that’s always the captain’s 1st Commander; Katakuri is second only to their mother, King is only second to Kaido, etc.

This suggests that anyone considered a commander is ranked, hence YC1, YC2, YC3 and, in some cases, YC4.

Blackbeard had to wait until after Whitebeard fought in an entire war while dying from some disease to make an attempt on his life and, even then, he was still getting rocked. Without some dirty tactic or the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, Teach isn’t beating any version of Whitebeard.

@Zozo916 it’ll be less impactful though. One of Smoker’s defining moments was telling the higher ups to go to hell for promoting him and covering up the Straw Hats’ role in saving Alabasta so him just deciding to quit the Marines with no fanfare just doesn’t feel right

@LucciXKaku4Evah Wano didn’t live up to the hype it garnered at all imo. Too many characters and subplots that don’t matter and are boring af, absolutely insane decisions like having a Yonko Commander get defeated by a side character instead of Luffy’s third commander when his first and second commanders fought the opposition’s first and second commanders or having Nami and Usopp’s only opportunity to contribute to the raid stolen by their enemy???, the abandonment of structure with things like the citizens of Wano not even knowing there was a fight until it ended, as well as other things. The final stretch of the arc is the only thing that stops it from being a complete flop as far as I’m concerned idk

But the Marines are interested in Laugh Tale… they want to end the Great Pirate Era and getting to Laugh Tale first would definitely do that

In the original storyline, Zoro and Mr. 7’s fight and Mr. 7’s subsequent death happened before the events of the main story (offscreen). The fight in the live action was just referencing that

Well, for starters, I think it’s safe to say that Mihawk is a Conqueror. It may be kind of roundabout to say but the fact that Zoro’s one and Mihawk IS his ambition all but confirms it — for me, at least. Of course, Oda could always shut me up by saying that he isn’t one but I feel like it’s impossible to be what is essentially the king of swordsmen and not have Conqueror’s Haki. 

Secondly, even if he isn’t one, I don’t think this really makes his rivalry with Shanks questionable; Mihawk is the World’s Greatest/Strongest Swordsman, not person — Shanks can be more powerful than him in general but still not be able to surpass him when it comes to swordplay, even when he had both arms. This idea that we need to take every single ability a person has into account for a sword duel kinda falls apart when you remember that Big Mom, who has/had Devil Fruit Powers, Conqueror’s Haki and knowledge of how to use the techniques of the Giants, is/was a swordsman as well and, yet, has never been a contender for World’s Greatest/Strongest Swordsman.

@Rockstar D. Charys it’s implied that the fruit seeks out its consumers due to Zoan-types having wills of their own so I don’t think it’s even fair to suggest hypothetical scenarios but, entertaining it for a minute, what you’re saying is true for every Devil Fruit power. It may be kind of convenient but, for the most part, every current user of a Devil Fruit power that we’ve seen has been the best at using their fruit’s bestowed power throughout recorded history.

Also, on a meta level, Oda deliberately gives those with Devil Fruit powers a power that matches a specific personality trait and/or compliments a skill they have so somebody like Doflamingo could never get his hands on Luffy’s Devil Fruit.

On another note, the only prerequisite we seem to have for awakening the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika is dying lol.

@Rockstar D. Charys not only does it give the user a second chance at life like the Yomi Yomi, its ability to defy physics and reality itself at points is objectively a better power than the ability to control souls, summon the chills of the underworld or turn into a dragon lmfao

Now that what we know what the Gomu Gomu no Mi actually is, it’s objectively the best Devil Fruit on this list

@JustSomeDude... we do know that though… lmfao. Even in his Awakened Form, Lucci didn’t actually warrant Luffy using Gear Fifth — he only used it because he likes using it. If you really want a hot take, I think Bounceman or Snakeman would’ve even been more than enough to handle Lucci.

One of the most annoying parts of being a One Piece fan is being surrounded by people that think someone whose best feat is cutting a moving city in half can beat a guy with the power of a god lmfao
