I think that, when it comes to One Piece, the reader should not be too concerned about those battle details, since OP is not a “technical” battle shonen like others.

That said, Saturn is the only one physically present in Egghead, the other Elders are probably advanced and physical emanation of a fruit (probably summoned by Imu? Or Saturn as well), so they cannot really be hurt, I imagine them as physical holograms.

The proof is that Haki can go over fruit powers, and the immense Haki unleashed by Emet (Joyboy’s one) is able to reverse this fruit summon
