- "Doru" berasal dari kata Jepang untuk "lilin" (キャンドル, kyandoru?).
- Dalam Manga Viz, dan dub 4Kids dan Funimation, ia disebut Buah Lilin-Lilin.
- Dalam bahasa Odex, ia disebut Buah Doru-Doru.
Penampilan
TDoru Doru no Mi adalah buah berbentuk buah pir berwarna putih dengan bagian atas yang tampak meleleh, mirip dengan lilin. Buah ini memiliki tangkai berwarna hijau di bagian atas yang memiliki satu tonjolan berbentuk tetesan di setiap ujungnya, membuatnya tampak seperti lilin yang menetes, dan pola pusaran khas Buah Iblis tersebar di seluruh bagiannya.[4]
Kekuatan dan Kelemahan

Kekuatan utama buah ini, seperti yang ditunjukkan oleh Tn. 3, adalah bahwa penggunanya mampu menghasilkan lilin dari tubuhnya dan membentuknya menjadi bentuk apa pun yang diinginkan. Sepotong lilin yang mengeras dapat pecah jika dipukul dengan sepotong lilin yang mengeras lainnya, sehingga kedua potongan lilin tersebut hancur.[7] Meskipun padat, lilin akan tetap meleleh jika terkena api atau panas, termasuk api yang membakar kepala Tuan 3.[8] Selain itu, karena penggunanya adalah "manusia lilin" karena kekuatan buah ini, menempatkan pengguna di lingkungan dengan jumlah panas yang signifikan dapat melemahkan mereka sebagai akibatnya.[9] Selain itu, pengguna juga dipengaruhi oleh kelemahan Buah Iblis standar.[10]
Penggunaan
Kekuatan buah yang diberikan, seperti yang digunakan oleh Tn. 3, sebagian besar telah digunakan dalam teknik yang sesuai dengan selera artistik Tn. 3. Teknik

- Kunci Lilin (キャンドルロック, Kyandoru Rokku?): Dengan mengeluarkan lilin dan menyebarkannya ke anggota tubuh lawan, Tn. 3 melumpuhkan lawannya dengan pengekangan berbentuk lilin besar. Ini pertama kali terlihat digunakan sebagai teknik bernama melawan Vivi.[15]

- Set Layanan Lilin Tokudai. (特大キャンドル･サービスセット, Tokudai Kyandoru Sābisu Setto?): Tn. 3 membuat susunan lilin berbentuk kue ulang tahun yang besar dengan pilar di atas "lantai" bawah kue, lalu membuat setengah kubah berputar di atasnya, dengan lilin yang menyala. Ia kemudian meletakkan target yang telah ia tangkap ke kue. Saat lilin menyala, perlahan-lahan lilin membungkus target dalam uap lilin, dan pada dasarnya mengubahnya menjadi patung lilin. Jika dibiarkan terlalu lama, target akan mati lemas. Ini pertama kali terlihat digunakan pada Zoro, Nami, dan Vivi yang ditangkap.[15] Dalam Viz Manga, ini disebut Extra Special Candelabra.
- Candle Jacket (キャンドルジャケット, Kyandoru Jaketto?): Mr. 3 uses wax to tie up his opponents in the ground. This was seen being used on Brogy.[16]
- Doru Doru Arts "Ken" (ドルドル
彫刻 「剣」, Doru Doru Ātsu 「Ken」?, literally meaning "Wax Wax Sculpture: 'Sword'"): Mr. 3 makes a large sword out of wax. This was first seen being used to pin Brogy's hand to the ground to prevent the giant from escaping. In the anime, this attack is censored with Mr. 3 covering Brogy's hands in wax and pinning the giants hands with wax stakes.[17] In the Viz Manga, this is known as Wax-Wax Arts Sword. - Doru Doru Arts "Mori" (ドルドル
彫刻 「銛」, Doru Doru Ātsu 「Mori」?, literally meaning "Wax Wax Sculpture: 'Harpoon'"): Mr. 3 makes a wax harpoon and attacks an enemy with it. This was first seen being used against Luffy.[18] This is known as Wax-Wax Art Harpoon in the Viz Manga and Funimation subs and simply Wax-Wax Harpoon in the Funimation dub.
Candle Wall, used against "Hydra".
- Candle Wall (キャンドル
壁 , Kyandoru Wōru?): Mr. 3 makes a wax wall to defend himself from an enemy that is attacking him. This is strong enough to withstand most blunt attacks. This was first seen being used against Luffy.[19] He also used it to great extent in defending against Magellan's poisonous Hydra, although it could not resist Magellan's ultimate technique, Venom Demon: Jigoku no Shinpan, and ended up melting as a result.[20]
Candle Champion.
- Candle Champion (キャンドル･チャンピオン, Kyandoru Chanpion?): Covering himself in wax, Mr. 3 makes a massive battle suit that resembles a large robotic boxer. The suit greatly enhances his physical power and defenses. It is so strong that Mr. 3 was able to defeat a pirate with a
42,000,000 bounty. Because of this, it is thus considered Mr. 3's best piece of art. The suit is generally white, however with Miss Goldenweek's painting abilities, the suit can be colored. This was first seen being used against Luffy.[21]
- Champ Fight "Oraga Hatake" (チャンプ･ファイト「おらが畑」, Chanpu Faito 「Oraga Hatake」?, literally meaning "Champ Fight: 'Plowing the Field'"): Suited within his Candle Champion creation, Mr. 3 plows towards an opponent with his boxing gloves.[22] This is known as Championship Fight: Little Garden in the Viz Manga, Champion Fight: Harvest Field Maneuver in the Funimation dub, Champ Fight: Harvest Field in the subs and simply Field Stamp in the Odex dub.
Doru Doru no Yakata.
- Doru Doru no Yakata (ドルドルの館, Doru Doru no Yakata?, literally meaning "Wax Wax Mansion"): Mr. 3 creates many wax clones of himself in order to conceal his real body and launch a fatal surprise attack on the target with a dagger. If the real body is attacked, however, his clones are useless. The technique also works best if Miss Goldenweek is around to color them as the clones are simply white. This was first seen being used as a named technique against Luffy.[23] This is called Wax-Wax Mansion in the Viz Manga, Wax-Wax Manor in the Funimation dub, and Mansion of Doru-Doru in the Odex dub.
- Doru Doru Ball (ドルドル･ボール, Doru Doru Bōru?, literally meaning "Wax Wax Ball"): Mr. 3 covers himself in wax to protect himself. This was first seen being used to protect himself against the stomach acid of the Bananawani after it ate him.[5] In Pirate Warriors, he can also use to ram into enemies while protected within the ball. In the Viz Manga and Funimation and 4Kids dubs, this is called Wax-Wax Ball.
- Candle House (キャンドル・ハウス, Kyandoru Hausu?): Mr. 3 creates a big box to get in with small holes to be able to see. It was used to move safely on Level 5 alongside Buggy. The house was made to be extra thick to protect them from the Wolf Unit and the freezing cold, and there is no bottom so they can move the house, which is a difficult task due to its heaviness, and allowed the Wolves to burrow underground to reach inside their house. In the manga, this technique is shown in a flashback, where Mr. 3 and Buggy used it to hide from the beasts of the Level 2; however, it was not named.[24]
- Doru Doru Kaijo (ドルドル解除, Doru Doru Kaijō?, literally meaning "Wax Wax Removal"): Mr. 3 turns back into liquid the hardened wax of anything he created. This was first seen being used to remove the Doru Doru Candle Armor he created for Luffy.[25] In the Viz Manga and Funimation subs, this is called Wax-Wax Release.
Combo Techniques with Luffy
While the powers of the Doru Doru no Mi have been used exclusively by Mr. 3, they have also been used inadvertently by Luffy. Discovered when Mr. 3 encased his feet in wax, Luffy uses the hardened substance in conjunction with his own Devil Fruit powers to deliver attacks strengthened by Mr. 3's wax. These techniques are temporary as the impact delivered by it breaks the wax, and have only been done when wax has been applied to Luffy's limbs usually inadvertently by Mr. 3.
During the breakout of Impel Down, the powers of the Devil Fruit have been used purposely with Luffy when Mr. 3 allied with him. One of the most prominent is a set of gloves and boots resembling those of Mr. 3's Candle Champion to combat against the warden of Impel Down, Magellan, and his Doku Doku no Mi powers.[26] These armor parts were melted by Mr. 3's Doru Doru Kaijo when the pieces were infected with Magellan's Kinjite poison, to prevent Luffy from being infected as well.

- Gomu Gomu no Tonkachi (ゴムゴムのトンカチ, Gomu Gomu no Tonkachi?, literally meaning "Rubber Rubber Hammer"): A technique in which Luffy uses wax applied to his limbs like large hammers. This was first seen being used after having his legs trapped in wax by Mr. 3 with Candle Lock.[7] This technique is called Gum-Gum Hammer in the Viz Manga and Gum-Gum Mallet in the Funimation dub.
- Gomu Gomu no Tonkachi Rifle (ゴムゴムのトンカチ･
回転弾 , Gomu Gomu no Tonkachi Raifuru?, literally meaning "Rubber Rubber Hammer Spinning Bullet"): A technique came up by Luffy when allied with Mr. 3. After having Mr. 3 use Candle Lock on Luffy's arm, Luffy attacks an opponent in a way resembling his Gomu Gomu no Rifle technique. This was first seen being used against Minotaurus.[27] Unfortunately, due to the intense heat of Level 3, the wax would melt in three seconds, rending the amount of time to use this attack rather short. This is called Gum-Gum Hammer Rifle in the Viz Manga and Gum-Gum Mallet Rifle in the Funimation adaptations. - Doru Doru Candle Armor (ドルドルキャンドルアーマー, Doru Doru Kyandoru Āmā?, literally meaning "Wax Wax Candle Armor"): Mr. 3 encases Luffy's arms and legs in wax armor resembling a large pair of boxing gloves and long robotic legs. He did this to enhance the power of his blows and protect him from Magellan's poison.[26] This technique was named in the anime but not in the manga. In the Funimation dub this is called Wax-Wax Candle Armor.
- Gomu Gomu no Champion Rifle (ゴムゴムのチャンピオン･
回転弾 , Gomu Gomu no Chanpion Raifuru?, literally meaning "Rubber Rubber Champion Spinning Bullet"): A technique came up by Luffy to combat against Magellan, the warden of Impel Down. After having his arm encased in wax, Luffy delivers an attack resembling his rifle technique. Because of the wax encasing his arm, Luffy is able to execute this attack without being poisoned.[28] The name of this attack is a combination of Mr. 3's Candle Champion technique and Luffy's rifle technique. In the Viz Manga and Funimation dub, this is called Gum-Gum Champion Rifle. - Gomu Gomu no Champion Stamp (ゴムゴムのチャンピオン･スタンプ, Gomu Gomu no Chanpion Sutampu?, literally meaning "Rubber Rubber Champion Stamp"): A technique in which Luffy uses his regular stamp attack, but aided by Mr. 3's wax to prevent him from being poisoned by Magellan.[29] The name of this attack is a combination of Mr. 3's Candle Champion technique and Luffy's stamp technique. This is called Gomu Gomu no Stamp in the VIZ manga and Gum-Gum Champion Stamp in the Funimation dub.
- Gomu Gomu no Champion Bazooka (ゴムゴムのチャンピオン･バズーカ, Gomu Gomu no Chanpion Bazūka?, literally meaning "Rubber Rubber Champion Bazooka"): An anime-exclusive technique. After having his arms encased in wax, Luffy delivers an attack resembling his bazooka technique. Because of the wax encasing his arms, Luffy is able to execute this attack without being poisoned.[30] The name of this attack is a combination of Mr. 3's Candle Champion technique and Luffy's bazooka technique. In the Funimation dub, this is called Gum-Gum Champion Bazooka.
- Gomu Gomu no Champion Gatling (ゴムゴムのチャンピオン･
銃乱打 , Gomu Gomu no Chanpion Gaturingu?, literally meaning "Rubber Rubber Champion Gatling"): An anime-exclusive technique. Luffy with his arms encased in wax is able to attack Magellan with a Gatling technique without being poisoned.[30] The name for the attack is a combination of Mr. 3's Candle Champion technique and Luffy's Gatling technique. In the Funimation dub, this is called Gum-Gum Champion Gatling.
- Gomu Gomu no Champion Rifle (ゴムゴムのチャンピオン･
- Tokudai Service: Candle Wall (特大サービス･キャンドル
壁 , Tokudai Sābisu Kyandoru Wōru?, literally meaning "Oversized Gift: Candle Wall"): Mr. 3 forms a giant version of the Candle Wall, with spike protrusions on the side facing the opponent. This was first seen being used in conjuncture with Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Gigant Stamp, where Luffy kicked the wall to push Magellan's Hell's Judgment back, with the wall protecting him from being poisoned. However, the wax only provided a small moment of protection, as it was eaten away by the poison.[31] This is called Extra Large Candle Wall in the Viz Manga and Candle Wall in the Funimation subs.
Non-Canon Techniques
- Doru Doru Arts "Tejo" (ドルドル
彫刻 「手錠」, Doru Doru Ātsu 「Tejō」?, literally meaning "Wax Wax Sculpture: 'Handcuffs'"): Mr. 3 creates wax restraints that can pin the hands of a giant-sized target to the ground. This was used to restrain Brogy in the anime instead of the swords in the manga.[17] This is known as Wax-Wax Arts Handcuffs in the Funimation subs and simply Wax-Wax Handcuffs in the Funimation dub. - Candle Shield (キャンドル・シールド, Kyandoru Shīrudo?): Similar to Candle Wall, Mr. 3 creates a rather rudimentary crude shield with his wax powers. It was first used in order to protect Buggy from being attacked by the Wolf Unit of Impel Down Level 5.[32]
- Candle Coating (キャンドルコーティング, Kyandoru Kōtingu?): Similar to Candle Wall, Mr. 3 creates a coating of wax to block harmful substances from reaching him and his allies. It was first used to protect himself, Buggy, and the released prisoners from Level 2 of Impel Down from the poison that Magellan used to block the exit.[33]
- Doru Doru Arts "Ono" (ドルドル
彫刻 「斧」, Doru Doru Ātsu 「Ono」?, literally meaning "Wax Wax Sculpture: 'Axe'"): Mr. 3 creates a battleaxe out of wax and uses it to attack enemies. This appears in Pirate Warriors 3.[34] - Doru Doru Arts "Taiho" (ドルドル
彫刻 「大砲」, Doru Doru Ātsu 「Taihō」?, literally meaning "Wax Wax Sculpture: 'Cannon'"): Mr. 3 creates a cannon out of wax and fires a shot at enemies. This appears in Pirate Warriors 3.[34] - Super Candle: Ultimate Champion ("スーパーキャンドル"!! "アルテイメツトチャンピオン", "Sūpākyandoru"!! "Aruteimetsutochanpion"?): Galdino creates Candle Champion armor for himself, Marianne, Mikita, and Gem. The four of them then dock together, creating a giant Candle Champion.[35]

Galdino mengapung di atas sepotong kayu.
- Dalam adegan tertentu di manga, setelah dipukuli oleh Sanji, Tn. 3 terlihat mengapung di atas air seolah-olah dia tidak memiliki kekuatan Buah Iblis sama sekali. Oda menanggapi adegan ini dalam sebuah SBS, menjelaskan bahwa Tn. 3 tetap mengapung karena sepotong "Kayu yang Sangat Mengapung" di bawahnya.[36][37] Dalam versi anime dari adegan tersebut, Tuan 3 malah tertahan agar tetap mengapung oleh meja yang terbalik.[38]
- Buah ini sering kali menjadi salah satu dari sedikit Paramecia yang disalahartikan sebagai Buah Iblis kelas Logia, karena tampaknya menghasilkan "elemen". Namun, buah ini bukanlah Logia karena penggunanya tidak dapat berubah menjadi elemen tersebut, melainkan hanya mengendalikannya.
