The A O Pirates[2] are a pirate crew led by A O. They were a subordinate crew of the Whitebeard Pirates prior to Whitebeard's death.[1]

Crew Strength[edit | edit source]

The A O Pirates are strong enough to survive in the New World, making a name for themselves there. They were also a subordinate crew of the powerful Whitebeard Pirates,[1] and managed to survive the Battle of Marineford.[3]

They are, however, no match for Edward Weevil, the self-proclaimed son of Whitebeard, who single-handedly defeated the entire crew.[2]

History[edit | edit source]

Past[edit | edit source]

Less than three years before the Battle of Marineford, the A O Pirates had invaded Whitebeard's territory and were still an independent crew.[4] However, sometime afterwards they became a subordinate crew of the Whitebeard Pirates, becoming part of the giant family that Edward Newgate treasured deeply.[1]

Marineford Arc[edit | edit source]

As one of the 43 subordinate crews, the A O Pirates set out with the Whitebeard Pirates to rescue Portgas D. Ace from execution. They set out to Marineford to fight in what would be known as the Battle of Marineford.[1]

Ultimately, Ace was killed by Sakazuki and Whitebeard by the Blackbeard Pirates. The A O Pirates left with the remaining survivors to give rest to fallen comrades.[3]

Zou Arc[edit | edit source]

Weevil decimates the A O Pirates.

The A O Pirates became the sixteenth subordinate crew of the Whitebeard Pirates to be defeated by Edward Weevil.[2]
