Chapter 967: The Conclusion of the Roger Pirates' Journey
So long story short, this chapter showed Roger and Oden's journey up to reaching Laugh Tale. I wonder what could have happened to the Road Poneglyph that was at the Sea Forest. Too bad that Buggy and Shanks could not join the rest of the crew at Laugh Tale.
Anyway, with the Roger Pirates having reached Laugh Tale, the time of Oden's death is drawing closer so brace yourself for Oden's upcoming demise.
Chapter 966: The Last Island of the Grand Line
It turns out that there's more info about the legendary treasure One Piece and the Laugh Tale island. After the war between Roger and Whitebeard, Izo had decided to stay with the Whitebeard Pirates and the cat and dog mink duo once again became stowaways on Roger's ship. It appeared that the Roger during his travel to Skypedia had left a message on the Shandorian Golden Belfry Bell.
I wonder what's next before Oden and his family decided to return to Wano other than Orochi's dark determination to take revenge on the Kozuki family.
Poor Oden, telling Whitey-chan about joining Roger until Whitebeard made a dismayed comment, (that very same comment when Oden and Whitebeard comment about Toki).
Chapter 965: Wano's Dark Truth
Looks like Momo and Hiyori were born on Moby Dick way before Oden and Toki return to Wano and Izo becoming the 16th diversion commander. Not to mention a quick look on Teach as a young orphaned child before being recruited into the Whitebeard Pirates. What's worse is the big reveal: Orochi's grandfather, who was forced to commit seppuku after his plan to overthrow the Kozuki family is revealed to the public of Wano long ago before Oden was born. Also, that old lady, who ate the Mane Mane no Mi, helped Orochi to become the shogun by pretending to be Oden and Sukiyaki and had Orochi as the next successor of the shogun.

Chapter 964: A Time Traveling Kunoichi
Looks like Kozuki Toki is from the distant past because of her Toki Toki no Mi abilities. And she is rescued by Oden, who suddenly left Wano without letting everyone know and Izo is with them too but he got separated from the White Pirates!!! Not to mention, Inurashi and Nekomamushi hid themselves in the ship. And just by luck Gol D. Rogers is about to take a visit to Kozuki Oden, a samurai and pirate of Wano.
Chapter 963: The Cat, the Dog, and the Kappa
It's so sad when I found out about Kawamatsu the Kappa. He lost his mother, who's a fishwoman, and people of Wano shunned him. But still Kawamatsu became loyal to Oden, not to mention he even protected Hiyori in the current present previous chapters. Other than that, looks like Oden got unexpected visitors, Captain Whitebeard and his loyal pirates.
Chapter 962: Oden's Greatest Achievements
Okay, we just find out about young O-Kiku and her older brother Izo, the member of the Whitebeard Pirates. Also, we saw Oden defeated Ashura Doji and became the daimyo of Kuri. Looks like we got two young Minks, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, washed ashored and were found by Kawamatsu the Kappa. so what do you guys think?

This chapter reveals surprises and familiar characters in the past such as O-Tsuru and Kin'emon as childhood friends before they got married. T.T i wish nothing worst happened to O-Tsuru-san after the attack on the Okobore Town on the current timeline, but it's still wishful thinking.
Chapter 959 Wano's Connections
The truth behind the incident reveals that Orochi destroyed all access preventing his enemies from heading to the promised Port. But despite that the Nine Red Scabbards but Momonosuke decide to head to battle Kaido. It's a sad chapter in the middle and almost the climax. Also, there's a connection between Wano and the Kozuki Family and a flashback about Oden. Wonder what kind of a connection.
Shogun Yasie
Oden said in a flashback that Yasie would become the Shogun after Shujiyaki. How would it played out if that did happen? Toki would still send her son and some of the retainers into the future because she saw they need help from the Strawhat to deal with Kaido.
Who will face the new Yonko alliance?
Assuming this Kaido/Big Mom alliance will last, who is strong enough to actually be a threat to them? Luffy is supposed to be the strongest one in his alliance and he got KO'd in one hit by Kaido. The only ones we know right now that are strong enough to fight them are Garp and the Marines. The Shichibukai have never been strong enough to be a threat to the Yonko, they were there to keep weaker pirates in check, we can talk all day about Mihawk facing Shanks but the Yonko are named as such because of their Power base not because of how good they are in a one on one fight. Chapter 958 Bad Omens in Wano
We got ourselves a flashback of the Roger Pirates including Roger, Shanks, Rayleigh, and Buggy. But despite that, bad news for Act 3 on the very start is what happened to the Straw Pirates and their allies. I've been re-watching the One Piece anime and recently got to Amazon Lily.

Chapter 957: More Info on Rocks
Wow, this chapter sure reveals a lot of stuff. First of all, it's nice to finally see the bounties of Roger and each of the Yonko after all these years. Anyway, too bad for the Marines to learn about Kaido and Big Mom's newly formed alliance after the Shichibukai system has been dissolved. Judging by how Issho looks, it seems Sabo at least landed some hits on him. Not sure if Sabo's comrades are just as capable. Ivankov and Inazuma couldn't do a thing when they faced Akainu during the Marineford war.

Chapter 956 Thoughts
So looks like the raid on Onigashima would have to wait. A lot of big things happen in this chapter. I'm afraid to think what could have happened to Cobra, Vivi, and Sabo. I give Morgans points for not being a pushover. At least Neptune and his family are back at Fish-man Island safely.
The other highlight of the chapter is that the Shichibukai system has been abolished. Issho must be pleased with this. I do smile at Buggy's newfound misfortune but I'm worried about Hancock. Good luck trying to catch her Koby.
Another important thing this chapter reveals is that Drake was never on Kaido's side. So it's more reasonable to suspect that he did helped Law. However, is Drake still going to fight the alliance as an enemy?
Chapter 955 Wano Wars: The Haki Awakens
Oda is really moving the story forward in this chapter. Now is only one day left before the raid on Onigashima and Act 2 comes to end.
Luffy finally learns how to use advanced Busoshoku Haki and Zoro gives Enma a test run, and it looks like it can do some serious damage. According to Robin, the enemy is already bigger in terms of numbers. Assuming that Kaido and Big Mom are still buddies, it's only going to get worse. Usopp, Nami, and Chopper are going to cry when they hear about the team up between the two Yonko. Luffy better be prepared to use Haoshoku Haki to thin out the enemy ranks. Chapter 954: An Unexpected Turn of Events
First, let's start with the small stuff. Momonosuke and Hiyori each got a sword from Oden and Zoro decides to accept Enma. Kin'emon receives Yasuie's last message and explains how to read it. Luffy continues with his training without any enemies breathing down his neck. Law is now free and Hawkins is subdued. And it turns out that Apoo has been working for Kaido since before Kaido's arrival at Kid's hideout.

Chapter 953: Swords and a Fox
Basically, this chapter is focused on Kawamatsu. Apparently, he had been busy before he was caught and he has the solution to the alliance's weapon shortage problem.
Hiyori certainly mentions something very interesting in this chapter, a sword that left a scar on Kaido. Luffy is the one who aims to defeat Kaido, but he's no swordsman. However, this chapter implies that this sword will have an important role later on if not just being a substitute for Shusui. Speaking of swords, what happened to the one Luffy borrowed from Tama's master.
This chapter also reveals something interesting about Gyukimaru. So what exactly is he? A real magical creature or another Devil Fruit user?

Chapter 592: The Reunion of the Princess and the Turtle
It's so touching to see Hiyori happily reunited with Kawamatsu! T.T at the snowy location of Wano. Good news is Luffy is all better and getting fired up. With new allies such as the yakuzas, although Luffy got himself almost killed by them until Hyogoro came to explain. Gyukimaru seems to know Kawamatsu. Can't wait to see the next chapter about the weaponmaster's relationship with the great famous kappa.
Chapter 952 Discussion
A lot of things are happening in this chapter. Zoro fights Gyukimaru again, Zoro meets Kawamatsu, Hiyori reunites with Kawamatsu, and the yakuza bosses in Udon are introduced.
This chapter has shown plenty of good news. Chopper took care of the Mummy virus, Ashura has the blueprints of Kaido's fortress, Gyukimaru is an ally and he got weapons to give. Oh and Babanuki is still alive. I’m surprised he can still talk after what happened to him. At least Tama turned him into an ally. Kaido won’t be happy if he finds out that the fruits he had been using to strengthen his crew can be turned against him. It appears that Kid is not teaming up with Luffy, not at the moment anyway. I'm sad that my prediction of Luffy and Kid starting a prison uprising together turned out to be wrong, but I’m sure Kid still has a role to play in this arc. Kid better not get captured again. Luffy looks terrible. Didn't he already looked terrible once in the Whole Cake Island Arc before Sanji gave him that bento box? If Chopper isn't in Udon, what the hell is Luffy going to do? Chapter 949: Victory at Udon
Looks like it's a glorious day for Luffy. The best part of this chapter other than Babanuki's defeat is Luffy winning the prisoners over. I am a bit disappointed that Kid has hardly done anything.
The alliance is lucky that the gamble to bring Big Mom to Udon actually paid off, but there is still 8 days before the Fire Festival and there's no telling what can happen during those 8 days. I hope we get to see what is going on with Law and the other Straw Hats in the next chapter.
Anyway, I hate to be Babanuki right now. That has got to hurt really bad. And I wouldn't want to be that scorpion guy either. It's a good thing that Chopper is there, because it's obvious that Luffy and some of the prisoners are going to need a doctor.
Chapter 948 Wano Wars: A New Hope
It seems that taking over Udon wasn't going to be as simple as Luffy thought. I have to give the warden some credit. Just when Luffy was acting all confident, the warden turned the tables on him. This shows Luffy that he can't get too careless even with fodders, especially those who don't shy away from underhanded tactics. Luckily, he got the support of Hyogoro, Raizo, Kiku, and Kawamatsu. Kid needs to be free as well. Can't have the prison uprising without him having part of the action.
With Kawamatsu finally making his full appearance, the only Scabbard left to be revealed is Denjiro. Plus, Oden and Toki also need to be fully shown and not just as silhouettes.
I agree with Chopper on one thing. Forget about Big Mom. She is Queen's problem …
Chapter 947: A Small Step Forward and a Lucky Break
Ok maybe this isn't the trial by fire that Luffy will be going through to master his Busoshoku Haki. At least both Luffy and Hyogoro survived and Luffy has taken a step forward.
The bad news is that Big Mom regains her memories. Of course it was going to happen sooner or later. However, by some stroke of luck, Big Mom falls asleep and the Beasts Pirates bind her in Seastone chains. I hope Big Mom reaches Kaido's island so I can watch Kaido and Big Mom destroy each other, but Big Mom will have to break free first.
Anyway, with Queen and Big Mom both out of the Prisoner Mines, now is Luffy and his allies' chance to start the prison uprising.
Chapter 946: Luffy's Next Big Step
The confrontation between Queen and Big Mom was pretty much one-sided. Is that really all he got? What was the point of his Zoan form other than becoming a bigger punching bag? However, Queen is still conscious so he's not out yet. The question is what is he going to do next.
The communications in Udon have been disabled so that means Kaido won’t be hearing about Big Mom's presence anytime soon. Good news are Kid and Killer are saved from drowning and Luffy manages to remove the collars. Bad news is that Big Mom is angry at Luffy. At least Big Mom is nicely thinking about others.

Chapter 945 Wano Wars: The Big Mom Menace
The conflict at Rasetsu Town sure is heating up. Right now, Law has his own problem to deal with. Not only is Bepo missing, but Hawkins can transfer any damage done to him to Law's crewmates. Let's wait to see how Law and Hawkin's powers fair against each other. Hiyori came close to getting captured, but fortunately she has her own knight in shiny armor. I love the look on Sanji's face when he saw Hiyori with Zoro. Is Sanji and Drake going to finish their battle or is Drake going to let Sanji slip away again?
On another note, Shutenmaru has found out about Kin'emon's ploy. Shutenmaru says he wants to show Kin'emon something, so does that mean he is going to come around?

It's nice to see Zoro and Sanji with their usual bromance again. While I never expected much from Orochi, I never thought he would need someone to shield him and run from a fight. Since Luffy's comrades were shown on the broadcast, will the Beasts Pirates be hunting down the Straw Hats (something that Law was worried about before all this chaos happened)? Chapter 943: The Reunion I've Been Waiting For!

Besides that, the best part of the chapter for me is Zoro and Sanji finally meeting again. It's going to be just like old times. Too bad that Toko had to get into trouble again.

Brief list of errors with Vivre Card height listings
I've been keeping a tab on all the errors I've noticed in the recent Vivre Card height listings. Here is a brief rundown of each one thus far. If anyone is curious, I can hash out specifics.
- Fisher Tiger is wildly too large in ways easily verifiable by comparison with Jinbei, Aladin, Arlong and Koala
- Trebol's height is notably too short in comparison images with Diamante, Pica, Doflamingo and other Donquixote pirates
- Vista's height is significantly too high when compared to both other Whitebeard pirates and in particular Shank's crew
- Rosinante's height directly contradicts SBS and is flagrantly off when compared to Doflamingo
- Yeti Cool Bro heights are oversized when comparing their extremities (hands and footprints) to the Straw Hats

Chapter 941: A New Ship?
First, I want to say some things about the previous chapter. So it turns out that the three men who were swindled were actually completely rotten to the core. I know they sold their families, but I thought it was because of their stupidity. Anyway, that gives me less reason to doubt Hiyori.
Speaking of Caribou, I think it may be a good thing that Raizo freed him. With his powers, Caribou can easily hide and make guards disappear. I have to give him some credit for not becoming Kaido's lackey. His cover story did show that he does have some backbone. He did choose to save that granny when he could have just escaped and he allowed Drake to capture him to protect that granny.

Chapter 940: The Eleventh Straw Hat
Well, it's official. The crew is complete. Caribou has joined the Straw Hat Pirates, fulfilling Luffy's dream to have ten crew members.
This revelation is quite out of left field, as Carrot and Momonosuke were the top candidates to take that final spot, but honestly, I can't think of anyone more deserving than Caribou. He has a Logia power, diversifying the crew's power sets. Oda said that a former villain would join the crew, and Caribou of course fits that to a tee. We've also seen his tragic backstory, when he left his brother Coribou to die at the Marine base in his cover story, and when that other guy's grandma died in front of him. Truly a tear jerker.

Next Generation of Yonko
At the end of the series, when most of the "old pirates" are retired/dead/out of the picture and the new generation is able to move up to their titles, who will get what? What I'm talking about is how for the marines, there's hope that captain Koby will eventually reach the rank of admiral (maybe epilogue?) or at least vice admiral by the end of the series. What's going to happen on the pirate's side though?
Get ready for a lot of assumptions. We need to make a few to have this conversation.

Chapter 939 Thoughts
To start off, this chapter shed some light on how Hiyori escaped the destruction of Oren Castle twenty years ago, assuming this woman is telling the truth. I actually hope this woman is being truthful and not another Pudding. Anyway, she still need to explain how she faked her death at the palace.
On another note, the captured Heart Pirates are in the same place with the arrested rebels. If Law is going to save his crew, then perhaps he could also save the rebels.

Favorite Arc Thematically
Hey, guys. It's been a while. Wow, it's been almost 2 years since I last wrote anything. Dang. Sorry, I've been busy. This won't be that kind of blog post.
I've been thinking lately about why my two favorite story arcs (Punk Hazard and Dressrosa) are my favorites and I realized that it had nothing to do with the fights or the new characters or anything flashy like that. It had to do more with the setup and execution of the elements involved. The themes at work in each arc, I think, are some of Oda's best writing in the whole series. I'd like to examine why these arcs worked so well thematically in their execution.

Anyway, the highlight of this chapter is that the woman Zoro protected revealed herself to be Hiyori, assuming that her claim is true. And the map after the last page not only indicated that Komurasaki is alive but she is also Hiyori as well. Chapter 936: Queen's Inferno
To start off, Luffy and Hyogoro are forced to fight in death matches. The bright side is that Luffy is not restricted by Seastone. Poor Raizo went through a lot of effort to get the keys to the cuffs only for them to be removed anyway. I like the way Luffy smiles when he took out the fodders. However, I have a feeling that things are only going to get worse for Luffy before he's freed.
