The Celestial Dragon Hit-and-Run Incident[2] was an event that occurred when Monkey D. Luffy attacked Saint Charlos, causing the World Noble to call AdmiralKizaru in retaliation. The event comprises the entire fallout, and marks the first use of the Pacifista prototypes.
While on the Sabaody Archipelago, the mermaidCamie, a friend of the Straw Hat Pirates, was kidnapped by the Hound Pets and sold her to the Human Auctioning House, where slaves are bought and sold. The Archipelago was very close to the main Marine Headquarters island, Marineford, so the Straw Hat's couldn't risk causing a ruckus. Instead, they attempted to save her by participating in the auction, using the 200,000,000 they acquired from their previous adventures.
Before the bidding could begin, the World Noble, Saint Charlos, bid 500,000,000.
Before anything else could happen, Luffy crashed into the auction house and attempted to run to Camie. He was stopped by Hatchan, but upon seeing the fish-man, Saint Charlos shot him and began dancing over how he could enslave Hatchan for free since he caught him himself. Enraged, Luffy punched Charlos in the face, knocking him unconscious and triggering the incident.
Event[]
As the protocol for a Celestial Dragon being attacked states, a Marine Admiral was called to the location; in this case, Admiral Kizaru was dispatched. At the same time, the Straw Hat Pirates and their allies were able to escape the Auction House with the aid of Silvers Rayleigh, but found the outside of the building surrounded by a platoon of Marines. In a competitive manner, Luffy and two of his fellow Supernovas, Eustass Kid and Trafalgar Law, used their Devil Fruit powers to make quick work of the Marines. Reconvening at Shakky's Bar, the Straw Hats learned from Rayleigh the truth about Gold Roger's capture leading to his execution before deciding to hide for three days while Rayleigh coated the Thousand Sunny.
Before they could, however, Admiral Kizaru finally arrived, accompanied by a warship and the newly-completed Pacifista prototypes. He then began hunting the members of the Eleven Supernova present on the archipelago, who were trying to evacuate.
Across the archipelago, the Supernova battled squads of Marines. The Straw Hat Pirates battled and destroyed a Pacifista, but as they celebrated their victory, they were attacked by a second one, this time accompanied by Sentomaru. The pirates prepared to flee, but Kizaru arrived to stop them, soon followed by the real Bartholomew Kuma. When Rayleigh assisted the pirates and delayed Kizaru, Kuma sent the Straw Hats across the globe, separating them and ending the incident.
Aftermath[]
Beginning at the time of their separation at Kuma's hands, the Straw Hat Pirates would not see each other for two years. However, his actions were actually an act of mercy, allowing Luffy to participate in the Summit War of Marineford and the crew to train independently.
Despite their decisive defeat, the Straw Hats managed to free all of the slaves (and would-be slaves) from being auctioned. The Human Auctioning House's owner, Donquixote Doflamingo, decided that he no longer had any interest in selling slaves as he wanted to profit off SMILEs instead.[3]
Meanwhile, with her father and brother injured and all their slaves gone, Shalria vowed that she will make the pirate crew beg for forgiveness for insulting their bloodline.
While the rest of the Super Rookies successfully escaped the archipelago, Admiral Kizaru captured 500 other pirates to vent his frustrations. They were ultimately sent to a labor camp, as Impel Down was slow to process their paperwork and Fleet AdmiralSengoku wanted to focus on the upcoming conflict.[4]
After the successful use of the Pacifista, and their impressive show of strength, they were used in the Summit War and continued to be developed by Vegapunk.
