Short Summary[]
As Luffy's group prepares to depart for Sun World, Gaban mentions on how Supreme King Haki can be effective against the God's Knights. With Hajrudin refusing to release Loki, some of the group go up to Sun World first. Once Hajrudin permits Loki to tell him the events of the incident 14 years ago, it occurs when Loki and Jarul come across a demon whom Jarul realizes is King Harald, as a mysterious figure locates a forbidden Devil Fruit. Another flashback occurs to 109 years ago, where back then Harald was more warlike, having just ascended the throne at the giant age of 45.
Long Summary[]
The New Giant Warrior Pirates, with the exception of Hajrudin and Gerd, start preparing a lift to take everyone up to the Sun World. Chopper asks to stay behind so he can treat Gaban's wounds, which Luffy accepts. Gaban then tells Luffy that the God's Knights are not immortal, and that the trick to defeating them lies in how he uses his Supreme King Haki. Luffy thanks Gaban for this info and promises to save his son and everyone else, while Loki thanks Gaban for his explanation as it allows him to better utilize his power. Once again Loki asks Hajrudin to take off his cuffs, but Hajrudin refuses. Gaban then tells Luffy that there is someone else in his crew who can use Supreme King Haki, and though Sanji assumes it is him, Gaban was actually referring to Zoro, who surprisingly, had no idea he could use it, while Luffy knew all along because he can sense it off of him while surprise that Zoro did not realize it. Gaban chides Zoro for his obliviousness, stating that he needs to be able to control it consciously if he is to continue supporting an Emperor like Luffy, which Zoro sheepishly apologizes for while Sanji ask Gaban if he also had Supreme King Haki.
Loki expresses his outrage that Hajrudin would rather have outsiders save Elbaph rather than him, but Hajrudin does not believe Loki would not betray them to join the World Government after he already betrayed the country in the past. Luffy tries to end the quarrel by inviting Loki to join his crew, that way Hajrudin would have no choice as a member of his fleet. Zoro and Sanji quickly reject his idea, as he is too big to fit on the ship and eats more than Luffy, but Luffy figures it would work out because Elbaph already does not want him and he seems like a fun person. Loki, however, is also against the idea of becoming someone else's subordinate, and while Hajrudin takes note of Luffy's instincts to trust him, he ultimately refuses to let him join his crew as he is already condemned for death.
Before Hajrudin and Luffy make for the lift, Gaban orders Hajrudin to set Loki free, but Hajrudin asks why citing all of Loki's crimes in the past. Gaban reveals to everyone that on that day, he and Shanks were in Elbaph the day Harald was killed, where they sensed an abnormal Haki, though they did not see everything that happened. This causes Hajrudin to order his crew to go without him while Luffy tells Zoro and Sanji to head on too so he can hear more about Shanks. After they leave, Gaban tells Loki to explain the whole story, and Hajrudin gives him three minutes to tell him the absolute truth. Loki ultimately agrees, though he warns it was a horrible day.
Fourteen years ago, Loki and Jarul were summoned to Aurust Castle by Harald. Loki ponders what his father wants, saying he has no interest in listening to someone who serves the World Government as they were the ones who killed Rocks. Jarul warns Loki to keep his voice down, but Loki states that that laid-back attitude he has is exactly why Elbaph is filled with children who prefer peace over fighting, even though Jarul says he has no issues with the age they live in now, as long as his children are okay. The two then hear a noise coming from the throne room just as they reach the door, which Loki kicks down in order to see his father. To both his and Jarul's horror, though, they see Harald being stabbed by his own men. Elsewhere, at Gaban's house, Gaban and Shanks were relaxing in a bath made for them by Ripley. The two reminisce over how much time has passed for the both of them as Shanks says even though he wanted to form a crew with Buggy and live a laid-back life, he finds Elbaph has much more to teach him. Gaban, however, calls Shanks a "child of fate" so he should not sweat over small details. After the two finish their bath, Gaban asks Shanks if he knows anything about Harald, and he reveals he met him in Mary Geoise, and though they got along well, he figured there was something the two of them could not talk about there, and he hoped to talk about it here before it is too late.
A flashback begins 109 years ago to explain how Harald become so beloved by his people. Back then, the Giant Warrior Pirates were considered the most fearsome pirate crew to exist, but one thing that scared the people of the outside world more than them was Harald, who became king at forty-five (fifteen in human years), himself, because back in his youth, Harald was a complete jerk who enjoyed messing with humans and his own subordinates for fun.
