Short Summary

After defeating the Buggy Pirates, Luffy, Zoro and Nami are about to depart with Buggy's treasure, only for the villagers to arrive asking about the pirates. Seeing their mayor was rendered unconscious, Luffy takes responsibility for it which only serves to anger them. Chasing them out of the village, Chouchou helps them escape by blocking the villagers path. The mayor soon wakes up, and after asking about Luffy and the others, runs after them to say thank you as the young pirates sail off.

Long Summary

Luffy, having just beaten Buggy, along with Zoro and Nami are aiming to leave the city (with Nami splitting the loot into two bags one for Luffy and one for herself), when the towns' inhabitants return. They find Boodle unconscious and Luffy foolishly accepts being the one that hit him, angering them. The towns people then ask if there pirates and Luffy foolishly admits to being one, angering them even more, after which they start to chase them, during which Luffy says this is a very good town, because for one person they are very angry. Luffy also says that no matter what they say, they are not going to stop.

On the way, the mob is stopped by Chouchou, who protects Luffy and the others, paying back the debt for Luffy avenging the person responsible for the destruction of his owner's shop and refuses to let the people pass. On the way back to the boat, they encounter the three of Buggy's pirates, from whom Nami stole the boat earlier on. Luffy, carrying a tired out Zoro on his shoulders while one of the pirates step out and taps Zoro on the head, saying that he shouldn't be weak and to show them who he is. After seeing Zoro's annoyed look the three jump into the sea in fear and swim away.

Meanwhile, the Mayor wakes up and finds the town's people around him. They inform him that they chased Luffy and the rest out of town. He is angered when the towns people start to insult them as he claims to be the only person who can insult them. He then goes to harbor to tell them what he thinks of them and thanks them. Later, much to Nami's anger, Luffy says he left one of the bags of treasure back at the harbor to help them rebuild. Out of rage, she tries to throw him into the sea, calling him an idiot.
