Chapter 16[]

The Sleeping "Dangerous Person"
As the heroes relax at Chopperman's Hideout, Namifia reveals that she has discovered the location of Dr. Usodabada's old laboratory. When Zorokiller asks what the point of that is, she tells them that Dr. Usodabada had built a massive robot weapon, and that it was stored in the laboratory. Despite Chopperman wanting to keep the robot, the group decides to destroy it before it can go on a rampage and set off for the lab.

When they arrive, they quickly find the blueprints for various monsters, Sanjirops included. Eventually, they find Giant Luffy Bomber, and prepare to destroy it. Sanjirops attacks it with Drill Shoot, but it has no effect. The robot wakes up and grabs Sanjirops, prompting Zorokiller to attack it with Oni Giri, but it also has no effect, and he's grabbed as well. Enraged, Chopperman attacks Giant Luffy Bomber with Chopper Violence, but even that has no effect, and Giant Luffy Bomber starts to get annoyed, asking why they're even attacking him. Zorokiller and Sanjirops tell him that they're here to destroy him, but Giant Luffy Bomber seemingly has no recollection of being a weapon of mass destruction.

As they discuss this, Chopperman tells Giant Luffy Bomber to let his friends go, and he complies instantly. He states that he doesn't want to hurt somebody's friends, and him and Chopperman begin having a friendly discussion. Suddenly, Chopperman announces that they're going to bring Giant Luffy Bomber back to Tony-Tony Island, despite Namifia arguing against it, and they leave to return to the island.

Chapter 17[]

Robot Collector
Back on Tony-Tony Island, the children begin playing with Giant Luffy Bomber, though he accidentally destroys a house due to his massive size. Namifia instructs Chopperman to go clean all the trash on the island as punishment for bringing Giant Luffy Bomber back, while she decides what they're going to do with him. She contemplates selling him, but Zorokiller and Sanjirops advise her against it.

When Chopperman returns, however, Giant Luffy Bomber is gone. Namifia initially tells him that Giant Luffy Bomber had somewhere he had to be, but Zorokiller feels bad lying to Chopperman, and tells Namifia to tell him the truth. In the end, she concedes, and admits that a plane flew by and grabbed Giant Luffy Bomber, leaving a briefcase of money behind. Chopperman decides to go save him, while the other three heroes stay behind.

Meanwhile, in Spanda's home, Giant Luffy Bomber wakes up chained to the wall. Spanda reveals that he's a robot collector, and that he bought Giant Luffy Bomber, but the robot argues that Chopperman would never allow that. He tells Spanda that Chopperman will come rescue him, and Spanda responds back that it won't happen, Chopperman busts through the wall. Spanda argues that Chopperman can't steal his property, but Chopperman responds that Giant Luffy Bomber isn't property but is his friend. However, as he prepares to free Giant Luffy Bomber, Spanda threatens to blow him up, stopping Chopperman.

As Chopperman hesitates, Giant Luffy Bomber asks Spanda why he's so hesitant to press the button. He threatens to self-destruct, stating that Chopperman will avenge him if he does, and Chopperman flies forward, hitting Spanda with Chopper Violence and defeating him. The pair of heroes return to Tony-Tony Island.

Back on the island, Namifia has spent the money left by Spanda to upgrade Chopperman's Hideout. As they see Chopperman and Giant Luffy Bomber returning, she tells Zorokiller that they won on all fronts, and Zorokiller realizes that Namifia had always planned for Chopperman to go save his friend.

Chapter 18[]

"Nightmare Once More"
The heroes cut down trees for Boodle, quickly amassing all the lumber he needs. Suddenly, they hear the sounds of a fight, and rush over to see Robinflowan badly damaged. They see that Bara Buggy has returned to Tony-Tony Island, and prepare to fight him. However, Sanjirops and Zorokiller can't damage him, and he quickly defeats them, grabbing Namifia as a hostage. Suddenly, Chopperman comes to rescue, and defeats Bara Buggy in only two hits, launching him into the sky.

The heroes look up and see a ship looking down on them, with Dr. Usodabada inside. Now with a cyborg arm, he swears to get revenge on the heroes, stating that he came back from the dead. He tells them that he's no longer working alone, and retreats from the heroes' attacks. As he leaves, he tells his subordinates to send a message to Black Brook, a name that Namifia recognizes.

With Dr. Usodabada gone, the heroes regroup. Namifia and Robinflowan inform them that Black Brook is an infamous gangster. He was rumoured to be killed during a fight with police, but crimes with his style have begun popping up again. She worries that he may be even more dangerous than Dr. Usodabada.

Meanwhile, in Black Brook's hideout, he receives Dr. Usodabada's message.

Chapter 19[]

Bigshot Gangster "B.B."
In Black Brook's lair, he looks over the information he's received on Chopperman. However, his subordinates bring him a supposed police spy, and he uses his musical abilities to force him into a vegetative state for lying. He then remarks how good it is that he managed to get Dr. Usodabada's services, stating that with proper funding he can create the ultimate weapon. His assistant tells him to calm down, reminding him that they need to look for "you know what".

Meanwhile, Chopperman and his friends look into Black Brook. They notice that all of his victims are rich, and that Black Brook always steals their valuables. To try and find more information about him, they decide to visit one of his past victims, and head off.

Meanwhile, Dr. Usodabada receives a message from Black Brook confirming their partnership. However, Black Brook wants a display of Dr. Usodabada's abilities, which annoys the doctor. When a soldier is confused how Dr. Usodabada can be angry with Black Brook, he reveals that his fight with Chopperman left him nearly deaf, making him immune to Black Brook's musical hypnosis, and that he was simply faking being under it's spell. He reveals that he plans to betray Black Brook and steal his money, allowing himself to create whatever weapons he wants.

Chopperman and his friends have arrived at the house of a previous victim of Black Brook's. However, they are quickly attacked by Helmeppoli and the police, who think that they're Black Brook's underlings. After a quick discussion, they realize that they're on the same side, and Helmeppoli informs them that they should wear earplugs to avoid falling victim to Black Brook's music. He also tells them the location of Black Brook's rumoured lair, asking them to check on the undercover police who snuck in, and Chopperman leaves for the lair.

Chapter 20[]

"X Symbol"
The heroes arrive at Black Brook's lair, but find it empty. After a short investigation, they discover the near-dead police spies in a back room, as well as a computer terminal. While the heroes prepare to evacuate the police spies, Namifia begins investigating the terminal. However, Chopperman smells primed gunpowder, and they realize that the computer terminal was set to blow up the lair. They rush outside, barely managing to save the police, and Namifia reveals that she was only able to get a single image off the computer, of an X. The heroes call Helmeppoli, confirming that the police are safe, and he tells them he'll send a rescue helicopter. At the same time, Namifia begins investigating the X symbol, and realizes that Black Brook has recently visited a church and a hospital, both places with cross symbols. She concludes that he's looking for something at the X symbol, but isn't sure where or what it is.

Suddenly, the heroes are attacked by Tama, Nin, & Pii, Dr. Usodabada's newest inventions. He created them to display his abilities to Black Brook, and the villains watch as the heroes struggle to fight off the robots. As the heroes are quickly overwhelmed, Black Brook's ship approaches Tony-Tony Island, much to Dr. Usodabada's surprised. Black Brook reveals that it's the location of the "Cross Power" (〝クロスパワー〟, Kurosupawā?) that he's been searching for, though Dr. Usodabada thinks that he's going insane, since there's nothing there.

Takei-sensei's Note[]

Takei-sensei's Note

Thank you for having read the 4th volume of Chopperman's adventures! I write the manga alone, which represents a fairly large amount of work, and consequently numerous hours spent at my drawing table. Up to now, I sat comfortably on a chair that I've had for years, but unfortunately, my cat made it unusable by vomiting all over it... so my vertebrae risk making me suffer while I break in my new seat. There's a little overview of my workspace (and I won't tell you about the cat's crate!).

See you soon for Volume 5!
