For the One Piece Odyssey character, see Dahlia (Child).

Dahlia is a non-canon member of the Kuja tribe.[1]

Appearance[]

Dahlia is a slim woman with long legs. She has bangs and long hair tied in a ponytail. She wears dark colored top and dark colored briefs with frills on sides. She also wears a light colored cloak, dark colored boots, and hoop earrings.[1]

Personality[]

Dahlia is a compassionate woman who values the fleeting love she had and the child born from it. She is very loyal to her homeland and like the rest of her tribe, greatly admires Boa Hancock, as she chose to return to Amazon Lily instead of staying with the man she fell in love with.[1]

Abilities and Powers[]

As a member of the Kuja Pirates, it can be assumed that Dahlia is a powerful fighter and knows how to use Haki. She had the ability to sail through the Calm Belt and reach Amazon Lily alone, in only a small raft.[1]

History[]

Past[]

A few years before the story, the Kuja Pirates were on an expedition when they were hit by a hurricane. A breaking wave threw a small Sea King aboard their ship, and in an attempt to throw it off, Dahlia fell overboard and was knocked unconscious. With no visible signs of life, she was presumed dead, and the Kuja Pirates continued their expedition.

Sometime later, Dahlia woke up alone on a deserted island. Luckily, she was quickly spotted by a passing merchant ship, who picked her up from the island. Recognizing her as a member of the Kuja, they gave her a room and food until she was able to return home. While on the ship, her food was brought by a young apprentice, and despite her coldness towards the men, the two became closer.

Over time, the man began to spend more and more time with Dahlia, and the two fell in love. One day, while celebrating another crewmember's birthday, the man proposed to Dahlia; however, she had already decided to return to Amazon Lily, and was unable to accept his proposal. As a farewell gift, the other crewmembers set up a small, symbolic wedding for the couple, and the two lived as a married couple for a few months. Eventually, Dahlia left the ship at a nearby island, resolute in her decision to return home.

However, once the ship had set out, Dahlia realized she was pregnant with the man's child. Resolving to continue on her return trip, she traveled through the Calm Belt, switching boats multiple times, and finally made it back to Amazon Lily.[1]

One Piece novel HEROINES[]

Having finally made it back to the island, Dahlia was spotted by Marguerite, Sweet Pea, and Aphelandra as she felt she was going to give birth. The trio quickly called over Cassandra, and Dahlia's daughter was safely born; celebrating her return to Amazon Lily, Dahlia began to live in the Kuja community again.

Sometime soon after, Dahlia was summoned to the castle by Boa Hancock. There, she was asked about her travels and romance, as Hancock attempted to understand the process of seducing a man; though Dahlia was under the impression that she was being tried for treason, and terrified she would be punished. Ultimately, Hancock let Dahlia go free, and she returned to Kuja society confused about what Hancock was questioning her on.

Trivia[]

  • Dahlia is the first non-canon member of the Kuja and the only known Kuja to have a child.
  • She is likely named after the flower Dahlia pinnata.
