"Sea Wolf" Drayke, sometimes called the Sage (賢者, Kenja?), is the captain of the Drayke Pirates and the main antagonist of Legend of the Rainbow Island.[1]
He was the carrier of the Sage's Emblem, one of three emblems needed to unseal the Rainbow Eye.
Appearance[]
Drayke is an older man with light gray hair that he keeps up in a reverse-pyramid shape. He has a small mustache and wears a red coat with a tall collar with white shoulderpads.
Personality[]
Drayke is extremely confident in his abilities and the abilities of his underlings. He was completely certain he would achieve his goal of finding the Rainbow Eye, and didn't consider losing to Luffy even possible.
Abilities and Powers[]
Little is known of Drayke's actual abilities, but he appears to be reasonably strong, leading a powerful pirate crew in the Grand Line. Despite this, he failed to demonstrate any particular strength, losing to Dias in a one-on-one fight.
History[]
Past[]
The Drayke Pirates invaded Silver Arrow Island. They captured Atoli and traveled to Loguetown, where she escaped.
Legend of the Rainbow Island[]
Drayke sent Kaabo and Garride to catch Atoli, but she managed to escape. After hearing their report about her escape and the discovery of Dias, a second owner of a Rainbow Island emblem, Drayke sent Harry to catch them instead, and hired Baroque Works to be on the lookout as well.
Drayke made his way back to Silver Arrow Island, where he assigned Pesca to find documents on the Quote Words. When Pesca returned with both those documents and the escaped Atoli, Drayke congratulated him and prepared to leave. However, they were interrupted by the Straw Hats, and Drayke watched as Pesca, Reira, and Dolce fought them, managing to escape with the time they bought.
While the members of his crew went to retrieve the ingredients necessary for Ryuumonkou, Drayke remained on his ship, keeping guard over Atoli. He made an agreement with her, promising to spare the Straw Hats and Dias if she convinced them to hand over the emblem. Eventually, when they returned with the ingredients, the crew traveled to Rainbow Island using Drayke's Sage's Emblem. Upon reaching the island, Drayke temporarily took up residence in a room in Rainbow Castle.
Later, while the Straw Hats explored the Rainbow Castle, Drayke waited for them outside. When they left, he watched as Atoli demanded they give over the Fisherman's Emblem, claiming it as the descendant of the royal family of Rainbow Island. When Dias refused, however, Drayke told Atoli she couldn't keep up her end of their agreement, and instructed Pesca and Kaabo to take her hostage again. He demanded that the Straw Hats give up the Fisherman's Emblem by the next day or he "accidentally" kill Atoli while questioning her on the Scripture and returned to the castle.
Some time later, Drayke ordered Atoli to tell him the Scripture. However, she refused, and he angrily ordered her escorted back to the room he kept in her before. Shortly afterwards, Atoli escaped with Dias, but Drayke ambushed them with his crew, who immobilized the two kids and took Dias' Fisherman's Emblem. Drayke merged the three emblems together, and after having his subordinates beat Dias to near death, forced Atoli to tell him the Scripture. No longer needing Dias, Drayke ordered his subordinates to kill him, but they were interrupted by the Straw Hat Pirates.
The Straw Hats knocked back the executives one by one, forcing Drayke and them to retreat. As they ran, Drayke promised a reward to whichever lower-ranked subordinate defeated the Straw Hats, but they were quickly defeated. Pesca then convinced Drayke to retreat and get the Rainbow Eye, leaving the six executives to slow down the Straw Hats.
Drayke ran back to the castle's throne room, where he managed to undo the seal. However, before he could enter, Dias and Atoli entered, intent on stopping him. He again tried to appeal to them, explaining that the three emblems had been passed down through the families of Rainbow Island refugees, but they refused to help him. Annoyed, he attacked them, stating he didn't even need the Rainbow Eye to kill them. However, Dias was able to defeat him, forcing him to retreat inside the open Rainbow Eye room.
Inside, Drayke claimed the Rainbow Eye, gloating over his newfound power. However, he was interrupted by the Rainbow King possessing his body, causing him to scream out in fear.
After the Straw Hats defeated the Rainbow King in the sand dunes, his possession over Drayke's body was cancelled, and Drayke returned to himself.
After his defeat, Drayke and his executives left Rainbow Island on a small raft.
