"Surpass the Emperor of the Sea - Luffy Strikes Back with an Iron Fist" is the 1028th episode of the One Piece anime.
Short Summary
The Worst Generation and Emperors scatter across Onigashima, preparing for new fights. Kid prepares to battle Big Mom, Killer fights Hawkins, and Luffy fights Kaidou. Meanwhile, Nami, Tama, and Usopp return to the Live Floor, chased by Page One.
Long Summary
After Luffy's declaration, Kaidou gets angry, challenging Luffy to try and even hurt him. At the same time, Big Mom approaches Onigashima, stating that she's going to kill Kid. She creates a new thundercloud Homie with her own soul, and names her Hera, while Prometheus happily announces that she's his girlfriend. Kid and Killer watch on, with Kid stating that he thought they had trapped the thundercloud Homie and Killer saying that Big Mom seems stronger than before. Panicked, the two Worst Generation members attempt to retreat, but Big Mom fires a Fulgora, hitting them at near point-blank range and shaking the entire island.
Meanwhile, Nami, Tama, and Usopp attempt to return to the Live Floor on Komachiyo, while Page One chases them. Usopp uses a Kemuri Boshi to distract Page One, which allows Nami to use Thunderbolt Tempo, but Page One transforms into his Hybrid Form and leaps onto Komachiyo's back, prompting the two Straw Hats to apologize profusely. However, Komachiyo begins to speed up, running into a wall at full speed and ramming Page One into it.
Kid and Killer stand up from a pile of rubble, somewhere inside the castle. They note that Big Mom isn't following them, likely because she lost track of their location due to the size of her blast. They hear her on the floor below them, trying to find them, and Kid promises to stop her from teaming up with Kaidou again. However, as they attempt to get to the lower floor, they are suddenly attacked by Hawkins, enraging Kid. Kid angrily calls him a traitor, and Hawkins responds that he simply avoided a fight he couldn't win. However, as Kid prepares to fight, Killer interrupts him, stating that he'll take care of Hawkins and they can't leave Big Mom alone. Hawkins transforms into Goma no So, stating that there's a 92% chance of Killer dying, but Killer responds that he doesn't believe in fortune-telling.
Back on the roof, Luffy thinks about Hyogoro's lessons on Internal Destruction Busoshoku Haki, and notes that it still didn't work against Kaidou. He comes to the conclusion that Kaidou can infuse himself with Haoshoku Haki, which the Emperor confirms but states that if Luffy can't do it himself, then knowing won't change anything. He states that only a handful of powerful people can do it as he charges at Luffy, but Luffy is able to block the attack by infusing his own Haoshoku Haki. After another clash, Luffy is able to send Kaidou flying back, throwing him across the roof and allowing Luffy to punch him again as Law watches, noting that Luffy didn't make physical contact with Kaidou. Luffy then instructs Law and Zoro to head inside the castle, promising to defeat Kaidou himself.
