Fujin[5] is a ninja and a member of the Beasts Pirates.[2] He previously was a member of the Orochi Oniwabanshu which served the shogun of Wano Country, Kurozumi Orochi.[1]

Due to his actions and role, he is a minor antagonist in the Wano Country Arc.

Fujin wears a dark helmet, with his orange hair gathered into a long ponytail sticking up out of the back of the helmet. He also wears a turquoise kimono with shuriken designs on it, white gloves, and a cape-like garment on his back that looks inflated.[1]

He has been seen riding on the back of his large catfish Sugamichi, that can move on land.[5]

Personality[]

Like the other members of the Orochi Oniwabanshu, Fujin is loyal to the shogun Orochi and dedicated to his job. However, he is superstitious and can be prone to being scared, as shown when he was confronted by the skeleton Brook.[5]

Abilities and Powers[]

Fujin is an extremely skilled ninja, as he was able to sneak up on Robin and catch her by surprise along with the other Oniwabanshu members.[1]

His specialty, like Raijin's, is "Slimy Grappling" (ぬめり格闘, Numeri Kakutō?).[4]

The anime had him generate a ball of concentrated air through unknown means and launch it, but it was destroyed by Zoro before it could connect.[6] He also demonstrated notable strength, matching Zoro for a brief period and even pushing him back with a kick.

Weapons[]

Fujin wielded a pair of wakizashis in reverse grip, but they were destroyed by Roronoa Zoro in combat.[7] In the anime, he demonstrated considerable skill, facing Zoro for a prolonged period and being capable of producing flying slashes strong enough to counter Zoro's own flying slashes.

History[]

Wano Country Saga[]

Wano Country Arc[]

After seeing the geisha O-Robi suspiciously sneaking around Orochi Castle during Orochi's banquet, Fujin and the rest of the Orochi Oniwabanshu snuck up and cornered her.[1] The ninjas questioned who she was and then moved to capture her, but unbeknownst to them, it was her body double, and so when they caught her, she vanished into thin air. Seeing this, they broke off into the banquet hall to find the real body of the geisha.[9] While searching, Fujin and Raijin encountered Brook's spirit form, and ran screaming for their lives, while mistaking him for the Gashadokuro. As they ran, they encountered their comrades and shouted that a ghost was chasing them, which led to their comrades running away in fear as well.[5]

As the Straw Hat Pirates were causing chaos at Rasetsu Town after Shimotsuki Yasuie's execution, Daikoku ordered Fujin and Raijin to pursue a woman that was seen with Roronoa Zoro. As they were about to capture her, Zoro came and attacked Raijin.[10]

Zoro Defeats Fujin

Zoro defeats Fujin.

After Zoro and Hiyori fled to the forest outside the capital, Fujin led a group of ninjas in pursuit of the duo and the entire group was eventually defeated by Zoro.[7]

Trivia[]

  • Fujin shares his name with the Japanese god of wind and the puffy sash floating around his shoulders resembles the literal bag of wind said god carries around. Here, the second kanji of his name 刃 (jin?, meaning "blade") has replaced that of his namesake's, 神 (jin?, meaning "God").
  • Fujin's favorite food is natto.[3]
