Goldberg is a very rotund giant with dark orange hair and a wide mouth. He wears green plaid suspenders with dark stripes, a grey cape with a flower buckle, and a viking helmet, and lacks a shirt. He also wears a belt across his chest.[1]
As a newborn, he had shorter light brown hair and was wrapped in a yellow cloth in the anime.[2]
Goldberg appears to be lighthearted about most matters. While Gerd was annoyed by Road's antics, Goldberg simply laughed it off and informed her of his status as a good navigator, showing a more practical outlook.[6] Regardless, Goldberg is still disgusted by Road's actions and furiously knocked his navigator unconscious once he caught up to him and the Straw Hat Pirates.[7]
Like many other characters, he has a unique laugh: "Degyagyagyagya" (デギャギャギャギャ?).[6]

Gerd[]
Gerd and Goldberg get along well enough, and she appears to trust him enough to share her thoughts with him about Road.[6]
Road[]
Goldberg treats Road normally, despite the fact that Gerd categorically does not like him, and notes that he is valuable to their team as a good navigator.[6] However, when he goes out of line and mistreats the Straw Hats, Goldberg was quick to attack him alongside Gerd.[7]
Abilities and Powers[]
As a giant, Goldberg likely possesses a large amount of physical power.[3] Along with the rest of his crewmates, he was an S-Class mercenary for Buggy's Pirate Dispatch Society, being recognized for his skilled mercenary work.
Culinary Expertise[]
As the cook for his crew, he is proficient in cooking, as seen when he informed Zoro and Sanji on how best to prepare a Groggysaurus for consumption.[1][8]
Physical Abilities[]
As a giant, Goldberg has incredible strength, he could carry and lift the Thousand Sunny, a large ship, while sprinting after Road.[9] Alongside Gerd, they were able to knock out Road in a single hit.[7]

Goldberg is often seen carrying the shield homieNash on his person. They are very durable and able to grow to tremendous sizes.
Goldberg also carries a mace whose length rivals his height; it has a very long handle that balloons closer to the end.[1][10][11]

Past[]
Goldberg was born in a village in Elbaph around 63 years before the present day. His birth was celebrated at the start of the 12-day fast leading up to the Winter Solstice.[3]
Goldberg, Hajrudin, and Gerd salvage books from Ohara.
22 years ago, Goldberg, Hajrudin, and Gerd traveled to Ohara a few months after its destruction and salvaged the books that had been thrown into the lake. Afterward, they transported the books to Elbaph.[12]
During the Timeskip[]
Many years later, Goldberg and three other giants joined Hajrudin in his goal to revive the Giant Warrior Pirates. The crew became mercenaries for the pirate dispatch organization, Buggy's Delivery. During the duration of their service, the crew became the five top earners of the organization, as well as earning the rank of S-Class soldiers.[13]

The Stories of the Self-Proclaimed Straw Hat Grand Fleet[]
After being informed of the Straw Hat Pirates's kidnapping by Road's pet, Muginn, Gerd and Goldberg made their way to Road's house to intercept them. On the way, Gerd stated her dislike of Road, to which Goldberg informed her that the reason he was on their crew was due to him being a good navigator.[6] Not long after, Goldberg and Gerd began to chase Road back up the bridge to the rest of Elbaph. At the same time, Goldberg carried the Thousand Sunny.[9] While still running down the bridge, Luffy suddenly made a reappearance from the Underworld, to the great surprise of the pair. Goldberg questioned Luffy as to why he had been down in the Underworld, leading to the Straw Hat captain acting nervously, although Goldberg wrote the behavior off as a reaction to the cold weather. The pair then brought Luffy to meet with his crew, but not without knocking out Road beforehand as revenge for his antics. After making introductions, Gerd and Goldberg proceeded back to the village.[7]
Upon arrival at the Western Village, Goldberg met the rest of the Straw Hats. After Hajrudin congratulated Luffy on his new status as one of the Four Emperors as well as apparently defeating Big Mom, and proudly offering his and his crew's services to the Straw Hat captain, Goldberg then stayed behind to prepare the feast for the Straw Hats alongside the other giants while the crew set out to meet Jaguar D. Saul.[11]
Later, he would join with the other giants in their celebration of their friendship with the Straw Hats. However Goldberg, alongside the other New Giant Warror Pirates, then received word from Road that Luffy and Zoro were making their way towards the "Underworld" to free Loki. Fearing what could happen, Hajrudin and his crew steered a svarl downwards to the Underworld in an attempt to stop Luffy and Zoro, but they unfortunately miscalculated the height and speed with what they were descending, but were saved by Luffy with a Gomu Gomu no Balloon, only to be launched upwards by the impact, minus Gerd and Sanji who was accompanying them. Goldberg, then watched in shock as Zoro accidentally freed Loki from his chains, though Hajrudin previously pleaded to them for not doing so due to the dangers Loki could have to Elbaph.[14] He was terrified when Loki ignored their pleas and provocatively struck the Adam Tree, causing a fire on the upper branch, shocking both the New Giant Warrior Pirates and the Straw Hats present.[15]

Goldberg was then surprised to see Loki being seemingly easily knocked out by a soft punch by Luffy. When Hajrudin agreed to have Gerd treat Loki's wounds, Goldberg listened in to the group's conversation about what to do with Loki and what happened in the past between Loki, Harald and Hajrudin.[16]Goldberg then ventured into the forest alongside Zoro and Sanji to hunt some beasts for provisions. As they stumbled upon a "Groogysaurus", Goldberg then had his shield, Nash, enlargen to block an incoming chomp from the saurus, which was then slain by Zoro and Sanji. Goldberg then explained Nash's background story when Zoro asked if he was the result of a Devil Fruit and then carried the Groogysaurus alongside Zoro and Sanji back to the other. When they arrived, he thanked Stansen for cutting down some trees so that he could prepare some meals for the group. While cooking, Goldberg listened in to Loki explaining about Luffy's pact with him, the God's Knights arrival on Elbaph as well as Loki's previous encounter with a famous pirate.[17]
Trivia[]
Following the professional wrestling theme naming displayed by a few Elbaph giants, including his fellow crewmates Stansen and Road, Goldberg could have been named after Bill Goldberg.
