Ruins Standing on the Cliff: Gorge Island is an island in Paradise. It was created by the Great Tree for the ordeals that the Straw Hat Pirates chose to participate in.[2] It was later reformed into either Memory Island, Wetland Island, or Floating Island.[3]
Gorge Island was the second island the Straw Hat Pirates visited in One Piece Unlimited Cruise 1: The Treasure Beneath The Waves.
Geography[]
Gorge Island is a brown-orange and rocky isle through and through. It is set during a perpetual dawning sunset. Across the island are various canyons, crevasses, and gorges that often have narrow pathways through them. There are also chasms with black bottoms, holed caves, and rock formations in all kinds of shapes and sizes shaped seemingly by erosion. Notably, there are layered rock pillars, hoodoo pillars, massive stone arches, rock platforms suspended over bottomless pits, and plateaus or mesas held up rock pillars. While not barren of vegetation, there is very little flora among the canyons on Gorge Island, being little else besides wilted grass and bamboo. While there are also some living and fruit-bearings trees among the canyons, they are few and far between, with most other trees being either dead or dried-up wood.
Notably, Gorge Island is home to a variety of fossilized remains of giant fauna. Those large skeletal fossils come as miscellaneous ribcages, Sea Kings, and even insectoid lifeforms protruding either from the ground or the canyon walls, sometimes acting as platforms. One fossilized skeleton from a Sea King would even be turned into a bridge leading to the first ordeal tree by Gaburi. Some of the fossilized ribcages on the ground also act like beartraps if stepped on. Most obliviously though is a near mountain-sized ammonoid embedded in a large mountain side. Among the gorges are also signs of an ancient civilization in the form of abandoned ruins. Those ruins consists of stone columns (many of which have fallen), crumbled building, altars, and structures in the gorge walls.
The paths throughout Gorge Island wind and twist around while intersecting each other at various times, creating a very complex network. Curious, those paths occasionally change, with rock walls sometimes appearing in places where there was once an open path and vice-versa. There is also a large rocky beach area in the southwestern sector of the island and a small pond on top of a rock plateau slightly northwest of the island's center. Also, north-nothwest of the former is an area with terraced rocks, many of which in the distance have terraced water reservoirs flowing into each other.
Enemies[]
The following enemies are encountered on Gorge Island:
- Mud Puppets
- Bazooka Marines
- Rifle Marines
- Soldier Zombies
- Wild Zombies
Kuro, Krieg, and Gecko Moria are the island's bosses, and Nightmare Luffy is the island's secret boss.

One Piece: Unlimited Cruise[]
The Treasure Beneath The Waves[]
Gorge Island was constructed by the Great Tree after Luffy agreed to take part in her ordeals in return for a present. The Great Tree proceeded to throw a giant seed into the sea, which turned into Gorge Island and rose up to the surface. When the Straw Hat Pirates eventually made landfall on Gorge Island, Zoro and Sanji got into another one of their usual arguments. Gaburi took notice of that, but Nami told him to just ignore them be since they did that constantly. However, Gaburi did not understand doing something like that all the time made it right, much to his confusion about humans.[2]

Gaburi using his powers to make a fossil move.
As the crew traveled deeper into the island, they came under several attacks by both regular Mud Puppets and transformed Mud Puppets. When they reached a crevasse with a fossilized skeleton on the other side, the crew used Gaburi's power to turn the fossile into a bridge for them. However, the reaction was a little delayed, so when Brook went to check on it, the fossilized skeleton suddenly moved in front of him, much to Brook's ironic fright. On the other side, the Straw Hats found a new ordeal tree, which spit out two seeds, which turned into copies of Kuro and Krieg, respectively. While Usopp was surprised to see Kuro, whom he tried putting up a brave front against, Krieg tried faking a harmless facade, but the group did not buy it. The two pirates proceeded to attack the crew, but were defeated nonetheless. Afterwards, Gaburi took the seeds they turned into and converted them into treasures, although he was disgusted by their tastes, which Nami contributed to Kuro and Krieg's character flaws. As Franky and Usopp tried pointing out the flaws in Nami's greediness though, Sanji would defend her. Regardless, Gaburi and Chopper were warned by Usopp to watch out for Nami. While Gaburi did not get it, he nonetheless promised to do so.[2]

The Straw Hat Pirates find the second ordeal tree.
Traveling deeper into Gorge Island, the Straw Hat Pirates got ambushed again and again while relying on Franky to build them bridges across gaps. Eventually reaching an altar in a ruin, they had Gaburi use his powers there. That caused the structure to collapse on top of them. Escaping the rubble, Nami nearly got crushed, but was saved by Robin. Finding an ordeal tree on top of the collapsed altar next, the crew made it spit out a seed that turned into a Gecko Moria copy.[2]
As Luffy recognized Moria, the most of the rest of the crew worried that Oars would show up. When the Ancient Giant did not, Moria tried grabbing Gaburi with his Doppelman and making him his hostage. Although Gaburi froze up in fear, Zoro and Sanji managed to work together to keep Moria's shadow at bay. Brook, having not forgotten what Moria did to him in the past, then vowed to not let him get away with his old tricks again. Moria proceeded to take on the Straw Hat Pirates, but was soundly defeated and turned into a seed. Afterwards, Gaburi turned it into a new treasure, although he was disgusted by the taste once more. While Usopp worried that the ordeals were getting too dangerous, the rest of the crew was ready to press on. With Gaburi confirming that there were no obligatory ordeals left on Gorge Island, the crew headed back to the Thousand Sunny for Iceberg Island.[2]
Awakening of a Hero[]
After Gaburi sacrificed his body to save the Straw Hat Pirates from the Doom Guardian, Gorge Island got transformed into either Memory Island, Wetland Island, or Floating Island.[3]
Wildlife[]
Doctor hornets can be found on the flowers of the island, while hercules beetles and golden hercules can be found on the island's trees. rockin lizards can also be found roaming the canyons. There are also fire hercules that can be caught with traps.[2]
Off Gorge Island's only beach are island clams, scissor shrimps, butterflyfish, adventure fish, and skull knights. In the only pond on the island live as well mata killifish, fist crayfish, and salamandras.[2]
