The Great King of Angolmois, or simply Angolmois, is a joke character introduced in the Author's Notes of Volume 9 and later featured in Grand Line Dream Adventure Log. He is a legendary king, also known as the "Great King of Terror", who is resurrected by a group of followers called the Great King Resurrection Squad.[1][2]
Appearance[]

Angolmois is a man with an ellipse-shaped head and the hiragana あ (a?) written on his forehead. He has small dot-like eyes and a large nose. He wears an orange-yellow striped suit, a red bow tie and a purple-green crown.
Personality[]
Not much is known about Angolmois's personality, as he does not speak. He seems attached to Chouchou.[2]
Abilities and Powers[]
Angolmois can somehow be resurrected, which causes him to descend from the heavens in a bus. According to old manuscripts, he has the power to grant any one wish to the ones who resurrect him, although this was never demonstrated.[2]
He can perform a combination attack with Chouchou called the "Great King of Terror", which is one of the strongest special moves in Grand Line Dream Adventure Log. However, the move is actually just Chouchou biting Angolmois which somehow causes the enemies to be sent flying.[2]

Sometime in the past, Angolmois became a legendary king. When the time came for the prophesied destruction of the world at his hands, the World Government sentenced him to imprisonment for a month, until after the time of the prophecy.[1]
After his death, it was written that he could one day be resurrected.[2]
Grand Line Dream Adventure Log[]
Angolmois is resurrected.
Inside a cave on Gold Island, the Great King Resurrection Squad prepared to resurrect Angolmois. The Straw Hat Pirates stumbled upon the scene, and the captain of the squad told them about the legend. The squad captain then focused his prayers, which resulted in a bright flash of light as Angolmois descended from the heavens by driving a bus. The squad captain tried to converse with Angolmois, but did not receive a proper response. He then dismissed the resurrection as a failure, and decided to try again to resurrect the "real" Angolmois. Angolmois was left with the Straw Hat Pirates, and upon noticing Chouchou, he smiled and joined the crew.[2]
Trivia[]
- The Great King of Angolmois is based on a prophecy of Nostradamus, which reads "The year 1999, seventh month, from Heaven will come a great king of terror: to bring back to life the great King of Angolmois. Before and after Mars to reign by good luck".
- The Great King of Angolmois returning in a bus is based on Volume 11's author's note, in which Eiichiro Oda drew him driving a tour bus to the 100th chapter.[3]
