One Piece Wiki

Kiribachi is a gigantic saw-like sword wielded by Arlong.[1]

Appearance[]

Kiribachi is a giant black sword with six shark tooth-shaped black blades on one side, resembling half of a sawshark's snout. Its handle is that of a katana's, but has no guard. During Arlong's fight with Monkey D. Luffy, the top four blades were damaged.[1][2]

History[]

Past[]

During his time as a member of the Sun Pirates, Arlong used Kiribachi extensively to attack Marines, even threatening to kill them if Fisher Tiger and Jinbe had not stopped him.[3][4]

East Blue Saga[]

Arlong Park Arc[]

By the time he reached East Blue, the saw was no longer Arlong's main weapon of choice, but would continue to serve against opponents he would face seriously. He kept his prized blade on the wall within the armory room of Arlong Park alongside other katanas, until he pulled it out during his duel against Monkey D. Luffy.[1] Four of its blades were damaged by Luffy during their battle inside the chart room of Arlong Park.[5]

Abilities[]

The sheer size of the saw is quite enough to overwhelm an ordinary opponent. Also, the multiple blades means two being broken will not render the saw completely useless.[6]

Combined with Arlong's natural-born strength, the blade can cause massive devastation. He has shown to swing Kiribachi in a frenzied manner, and perform consecutive somersaulting slashes like a buzz saw.[1]
