Kiribachi is a gigantic sword wielded by Arlong.[2]

Appearance[]

Kiribachi is a giant black pole with six shark tooth-shaped black blades on one side, resembling half of a sawshark's snout.[1] Its handle is that of a katana's, but has no guard.[3]

History[]

Past[]

During his time as a member of the Sun Pirates, Arlong would use it extensively to attack Marines, even threatening to kill them if Fisher Tiger and Jinbe had not stopped him.[4][5]

East Blue Saga[]

Arlong Park Arc[]

By the time he reached East Blue, the sword was no longer Arlong's main weapon of choice, but would continue to serve against opponents he would face seriously. He kept his prized blade on the wall within the armory room of Arlong Park, until he pulled it out during his duel against Monkey D. Luffy. Several of its blades were broken by Luffy during their battle inside the Arlong Park.[6]

Abilities[]

The sheer size of the sword is quite enough to overwhelm an ordinary opponent. Also, the multiple blades means one or two being broken will not render the sword completely useless.[7]

Combined with Arlong's natural-born strength, the blade can cause massive devastation. He has shown to swing Kiribachi in a frenzied manner, and perform consecutive somersaulting slashes like a buzz saw.[6]
