The Land of Gods is a massive, enclosed diorama in a castle in Elbaph where humans live with giant animals, which they consider gods. It was built and ruled by Road, claiming to be the "Sun God".[1]

The Land of Gods is a large diorama built to resemble a real country. The land formations, plants, and buildings are all constructed with large toy blocks made from a synthetic resin. The only real plant appears to be the giant tree Yggdrasil.[2][1]
The diorama is enclosed inside a box cage with one-way mirror walls reinforced with steel netting, which allows the Sun God to observe the land from the outside while those inside see the illusion that the sky and land continue indefinitely. There is a large door on one of the walls which the Sun God can use to enter the diorama.[1]

Bigstein Castle (ビッグステイン城, Biggusutein-jō?) is a gigantic castle constructed out of oversized interlocking toy bricks, located within the Land of Gods. It suffered some damage during the Straw Hats' eventful arrival.[3]

Sun God's Temple[]
The Temple (神殿, Shinden?) of the Sun God is located in the direction opposite the Bigstein Castle. People within the land are not allowed to approach it, and it is guarded by vicious soldiers such as Muginn and Hilmungardr. In reality, the temple's supposed location is where a large door allows the Sun God access in and out of the diorama, the room housing the diorama being the so-called "temple".[1]

The room where the Land of Gods is constructed was originally a holding cell used to imprison giants.[4]
Road repurposed the room to contain his pets and an assortment of captured "intruders" that he had deliberately brought to Elbaph in order to imprison them within the diorama.[5]
Final Saga[]
Elbaph Arc[]
Half of the Straw Hat Pirates were imprisoned the Land of Gods by Road after his pet raven, Muginn, stole the Thousand Sunny with them on board, while they were on the way to Elbaph. Upon awakening in the unfamiliar location, they wreaked havoc across the land by eating the Ear God and defeating the Needle God and Iscat.[6] Luffy eventually broke one of the walls as the crew exited the diorama at the Sun God's temple. There they defeated Muginn]and Hilmungardr, and accidentally set fire to the room. This angered the Sun God, who pursued them back into the diorama.[1] The Straw Hats then broke out of the wall on the other side of the Land of Gods, leading them to the outside.[7]
Trivia[]
- The names of several residents and locations of the Land of Gods come from Norse mythology and Nordic languages, fitting with Elbaph, the homeland of the land's ruler Road.
- The toy blocks that many of the Land of Gods' structures are made of are very similar to Lego bricks. Lego was founded in Denmark, fitting with the Nordic themes found in the Land of Gods.
- According to stories, the lunarians once lived on the Red Line. Their homeland was called the "Kingdom of Gods" (神の国, Kami no Kuni?) by Whitebeard, which was translated as the "Land of Gods" by VIZ.[8]
- The Land of Gods appears to mirror its greater location of Elbaph to an extent:
- The town resembles a typical Elbaph village.
- Yggdrasil mirrors the colossal tree of Elbaph.
- Bigstein Castle mirrors Road's castle, which houses the diorama.
