Mekao is a shipwright from G-8. He is Dr. Kobato's father.[1]
He becomes an ally of Straw Hat Pirates during the G-8 Arc.
Appearance
Mekao is a small man with white hair and red sunglasses on his head. He wears a orange overalls with blue strips on his collar along with Marine symbol on his back.[1]
Personality
He is a kind man who is passionate about his work. He cares for his daughter's wellbeing and he is always willing to help people. Mekao also sees ships as living beings.
Abilities and Powers
He is an old mechanic and shipwright.
History
G-8 Arc
Usopp explained to him what he saw next to the Going Merry back in Skypiea. Mekao was about to explain to him what he might have seen, but Drake pulled him away before he could do so. He later helped the Straw Hat Pirates escape the base.
Trivia
- It is assumed that Mekao, like Franky, knew that what Usopp saw repairing the Going Merry was a Klabautermann. However he could not have said that it was a Klabautermann because at that time Oda had not yet revealed it and would only reveal it much later during the Water 7 Arc.
