From the outside, Meshi appears to be an ordinary restaurant. It is just so in its interior, whose space is rather limited, making it a modest eatery where only a small number of guests can dine at any given time.[2]

As soon as they reached Syrup Village, Luffy, Zoro, and Nami, led by Usopp, headed to Meshi in order to find something to eat. There, the Straw Hat Pirates got to know Usopp better, and the latter spoke to them about Kaya. Then, once Usopp left, the remaining members of the self-styled Usopp Pirates entered the restaurant and met the Straw Hats.
