Monjiro wears a green kimono with blue hakama. He also wears a red beaded necklace and a black sugegasa hat with a white chin strap, and he carries a box on his back.[1] He has a reverse crescent moon tattoo on his ankle.[3]

Monjiro is loyal to the Kozuki Family, as he waited roughly 20 years for their return. He seemed perplexed by the message he was given about the Kozuki Family returning to revolt.[1]

Abilities and Powers

Monjiro wields a sword and is proficient at using it, fending off members of the Beasts Pirates during the raid on Onigashima.[4]

In the past, Monjiro was allied with the Kozuki Family. After hearing Kozuki Toki's prophesied the downfall of Kurozumi Orochi and the opening of Wano Country's borders, Monjiro and his allies waited for 20 years for the Nine Red Scabbards' return and got reverse crescent moon tattoos to identify themselves.[1][3]

Wano Country Arc

Monjiro was walking through the Flower Capital when he passed either Usopp, Shachi, Bepo, or Penguin and was handed a piece of paper.[1]

Monjiro was among those arrested and thrown in Rasetsu Town for conspiring to defy Orochi.[5] In prison, he and the others received Shimotsuki Yasuie's final message of the rebels' new gathering place.[6]

On the day of the Fire Festival, Monjiro and the other rebels were freed from Rasetsu Town by Denjiro, adding 1,000 soldiers to the raid's forces. The group sailed to Tokage Port to retrieve the Scabbards and commence the raid.[2]

Monjiro joined the resistance and traveled with the Kozuki Family's other allies to Onigashima, donning a disguise upon arrival.[7]

Monjiro joined Kin'emon's Eastern forces, and the group approached a brothel. The group split up but heard someone from inside the brothel. They all jumped in the water to hide, except Chopper and Usopp who were riding in the Brachio Tank V.[8]

After the group invaded the Live Floor, Monjiro, Jujiro, and Omasa cut down the Beasts Pirates that stood in their way.[4]

Anime and Manga Differences

In Rasetsu Town, Monjiro is replaced with another short samurai. Both have conical hats and beaded necklaces, but their facial features and color schemes are different.[9]
