Morishita Yukie is a first-year high school student in One Piece in Love. She has a crush on Yamamoto Luffy, and acts as a romantic rival for Koyama Nami.
Appearance[]
Yukie is a teenage girl with long black hair that she keeps in braids. She typically wears a dark green school uniform with a blue collar and skirt.
She is almost always seen in a costume of when interacting with the Pirate Club; previously the Going Merry, and now the Thousand Sunny.
Her Going Merry costume mostly consisted of a mask recreating the ship's figurehead. The costume initially included a wooden base she wore around her waist, complete with a model cannon in the front, but she frequently discarded it due to its unwieldiness (which she explained as "shedding").[6]
Her Thousand Sunny costume simply consists of a mask recreated the ship's lion figurehead.

Personality[]
Yukie appears to be fairly shy, to the point of refusing to approach Yamamoto Luffy, the boy she has a crush on, without her costumes. However, while in her costume, she is very straightforward in her approach for his affection, constantly trying to be near him and get a hug from him.[1][3]
She gets nervous around large animals like reindeer.[7]
Relationships[]
Yamamoto Luffy[]
Yukie and Luffy went to preschool together, and she has a crush on him, but is too shy to actually show her face. Her crush on Luffy is what prompts her to create her ship disguises[1] and join the Pirate Club.[4]
Koyama Nami[]
Yukie and Nami are romantic rivals, as both are in love with Luffy.[1] After discovering this, Yukie tends to be confrontational with Nami, and sometimes tries to turn Luffy against her.[3]
History[]
Past[]
When she was young, she went to the same preschool as Yamamoto Luffy.[1]
One Piece in Love[]
Yukie watched the Pirate Club as they searched for a new clubroom. Realizing that Luffy must like One Piece, she disguised herself as the Going Merry to approach them, intent on getting a hug from Luffy the same way Monkey D. Luffy hugs the actual Going Merry. To resolve their search for a clubroom, she invited them to the Tea Ceremony Club's room, having gotten permission to share it.[1]
During Uwazumi High School's culture festival, Yukie's class put on a haunted house, which she participated in as a zombie. However, when she saw the Pirate Club going through the house, she didn't want Luffy to see her without her disguise, and quickly donned it. When they got to her and demanded an explanation, Yukie told them that she had risen from the depths as a zombie because of a grudge over having been burned; when Usopp pointed out that the Merry thanked the Straw Hats as it burned, Yukie responded that she had just forgotten. Eventually, the Pirate Club decided to appease Merry's spirit and let it rest again. Before she left, Yukie asked Luffy for a goodbye hug to finally appease her spirit, but Luffy refused, so she just ran off.
Later, after the Pirate Club had left the haunted house, Yukie donned a disguise of the Thousand Sunny and approached them again, introducing herself as their new ship.[3]
