The Moron Song (アホの歌,Aho no Uta?)[1] was a brief song, of Monkey D. Luffy's own invention, meant to accompany exploration in Skypiea; while he had apparently prepared more verses, he was interrupted by Wyper after singing the first two.[2] The next three verses were later revealed during an SBS segment at a reader's request.[3]
My head is empty, I'm a fool...
The island in the north is oh so cool...
My head's empty and I'm a fool...
Funimation Dub Version
Oh, the islands in the south are warm...
And their heads get really hot...
They grow-a pineapples...
They grow-a coconuts...
And they're morons!
The islands in the north are snowy...
And their heads get really cold...
They're very chilly-chilly...
They're very willy-nilly...
And they're idiots!
Funimation Sub Version
The islands in the south are warm...
Pineapple-ple, head all warm, what a dummy...
The islands in the north are cold...
All chilly-like, head all shivery, what a dummy...
VIZ Media Version (SBS)
Laaa-la-la-la-laaa
Morning comes early on East Island
Everyone is lively but stupid
Nights are late on West Island
Everyone is cheery but stupid
AAAH AAH I just yawned
Everyone smiles but they're stupid
Funimation Dub Version (Episode 1029)
I wake up in the morning...
With the sun...
Don't have much sense, but...
Have fun...
Everybody here with me...
Funimation Sub Version (Episode 1029)
The sky in the east is up early
The weather is so fine
There are only fools there
The island in the east is...
Trivia[]
In the manga, to reflect Luffy's childish nature, the lyrics are depicted solely in hiragana, even for words One Piece usually spells with the more sophisticated kanji system.
There are a few anime-only instances where Luffy sings this song.
