Mt. Kintoki[2] is a mountain on an island somewhere in the Grand Line. It is Sentomaru's place of origin.

Layout and Locations[]

Little of Mt. Kintoki has been shown, but it appears to be covered in a large forest.[1] A village is located very close to Mt. Kintoki, enough so that they are sometimes plagued by animals leaving the forest.[3]

Citizens[]

The only known citizen of Mt. Kintoki was Sentomaru, when he was a child.

History[]

Past[]

As a young child, Sentomaru was banished by the village near Mt. Kintoki, and took up residence on the mountain. Using his sumo abilities, he began living on the mountain, eventually becoming the de facto master of the mountain.

During an expedition to rid the mountain of bears that were harassing the nearby village, Vegapunk and Borsalino found Sentomaru having already defeated them. Impressed by his strength and drive to survive, Vegapunk hired Sentomaru as a bodyguard, and the boy left the mountain.[3][1]

Trivia[]

  • Mt. Kintoki's name comes from the folklore hero Kintarō, who later adopted the name "Sakata no Kintoki". This is a reference to Sentomaru, his own design being heavily based on Kintarō's.
