While contemplating her future career paths, Niina was approached by the Straw Hat Pirates, who had been sent by her grandmother. She apologized for losing track of time and told the Straw Hats that she was stuck over the issue of becoming a shipwright for Galley-La. She stated that despite not being as physically strong as many of the shipwrights, she was strong enough to do it, and wanted to follow in her father's footsteps.
The Straw Hats advised her on what they thought she should do, and Niina agreed. She returned to work in the cafeteria, content in her choice of future career path.
