At the end of the Void Century, the World Government outlawed the research of Poneglyph. Because of this, countless people who tried to study the hundred years were killed. Ohara was one of the Archaeologist clans who believed that they managed to evade the World Government's eyes, yet in reality the World Government always observed this island. In 1496 six people along with Nico Olvia, Robin's mother, went on a journey to complete her late husband's work. However, by the end of the six year mission, Nico Olvia and her group were caught by the Marines. All of the archaeologists but Olvia were killed while defending her and Olvia was left alive. Interestingly, Aokiji would later use this situation to lie to the Straw Hat Pirates about Robin. The Marines managed to look at the IDs of the dead Oharans and found out that they were from Ohara. Because of this, the World Government decided that they would have to destroy Ohara. Vice Admiral Jaguar D. Saul did not agree with what the World Government are doing to the scholars. Admiral Sengoku ordered him to be one of the five Vice Admirals to lead the Buster Call. However Saul questioned him about this situation, Sengoku berates him to follow orders and not question the World Government. Saul then questions Olvia who told him that they should not have detain her and kill her comrades without question and they are just afraid of the past they don't even know about. Saul decides to free her and desert the Marines. After Olvia was freed, she tells Saul not to expect her thanks, they both went seperated ways. Soon Sengoku hears about Olvia's escape and Saul's betrayal that he ordered them captured. Saul was soon shipwrecked in a storm and coincidently drifted to Ohara and later Olvia arrived by a small rowboat. Robin then found Saul who just woke up without knowing where he is, befriends Nico Robin who happens to be Olvia's daughter.[1] They soon became fast friends, explaining a little about the Will of D and attempts to build a raft. Robin would steal bread and jam to feed Saul. Before departing he asked where he was and Robin answered Ohara. This shocked Saul and panics, telling Robin that Marine warships are heading to Ohara and must warn her people. At first Robin thinks he's lying but tells her that he is telling the truth as he's from the Marines as well. Shocked, Robin runs off while continue to panic and blames himself. Meanwhile somewhere out in sea, then Vice Admiral Aokiji is napping on the ship, get's annoyed when one of his comrades informed him that Spandine of the CP9 has reached Ohara. Meanwhile Olvia arrived at the Tree of Knowledge and tries to warn everyone that the Marines are coming and must leave but Clover refuse to leave saying that the books are their treasures and will protect them. Olvia then heard of the CP9 arriving on shore and decided to take matters on her own hands. She grabs the rafile and fled to where the CP9 are, passing Robin who is running to the Tree of Knowledge; passing each other. Olvia arrives to where the CP9 are and tries to stall them by shooting at Spandine's waistcoat. He panics thinking he's been shot but one of his lackeys points out that it went through his coat. Olvia tries to tell them that she is responsible for her actions and Ohara is not involved in this. Spandine tells her that her efforts are worthless and Ohara is going to be taken down; much to Olvia's shock. Spandine then ordered Laskey and an unnamed agent to take her down which they use Rokushiki to do so. Meanwhile Robin arrived at the Tree of Knowledge and tried to warn Clover and the others but the results were the same and tells her that her mother was here. Suddenly a door burst open and the agents swarmed in, telling everyone to go outside as they begin to ransack the library much to the scholars' shock. Clover tries to reason with them but one of agents tells him not to tell him how to do his job.
