Olav is a young boy with a large, round face. He wears a fur coat, a belt with a large, round buckle, and black gloves. Additionally, he has a large, uniquely-shaped helmet with two horns and a top piece resembling a Roman pluma.

Olav and a group of Walrus School students met the Straw Hat Pirates when they arrived and were also greeted by the biology teacher Ripley. After the Straw Hats left, Olav played with a few other students outside of the school.[3] Later, he attended Ange's class where everyone discussed their greatest fears.[4]
At some point later, Olav and eight other students were put to sleep and were being lured away by the abilities of the God's Knights, who arrived to use the giant's children to coerce the adults to fight for them in an incoming massive war.[5] They walked along Branch 8 of Forest Sector 2 where a large fire started by Loki was in front of them, but Jinbe extinguished the fire, allowing the kids to remain unharmed.[6] Eventually, the kids woke up from Killingham's sleep ability, but realized they could not move with Gunko's arrow controlling them. They were told by Colon that they were being abducted, and were subsequently ambushed by two MMA creatures, which greatly terrified Olav. As they continued walking, he tried to convince himself he was in a dream, closing his eyes and repeating it over and over.[7]
