One Piece: Departure to the Starry Sky[1] was a special screening performed in various Konica Minolta science museums in Japan. It was an educational planetarium special, and featured the Straw Hat Pirates learning about various astrological topics.

Short Summary[]

After a storm, the Straw Hat Pirates wake up on Starry Sky Island, where they must travel through a series of astrologically-themed areas to return to the Thousand Sunny.

Long Summary[]

As the Straw Hat Pirates sail through a storm, they are thrown from the Thousand Sunny, and land on Hoshizora Island. There, they meet Chiron, who explains that they have to travel through five islands to return to the Sunny. Determined to do so, the Straw Hats set off towards the first island, Seiza Island.

On Seiza Island, they run into the constellations Leo, Libra, and Sasori, among others. Luffy considers eating Sasori due to it being a scorpion, but Nami admonishes him. They eventually leave for the second island, Shinwa Island.

When they arrive, they meet Ohitsuji, a golden sheep. Luffy is able to capture the sheep, who offers to guide them to the third island, Wakusei Island, in exchange for its freedom. Luffy agrees, to Nami's disappointment.

On Wakusei Island, they meet the eight planets of the Solar System, but eventually leave for the fourth island, Uchu Island.

There, a comet flies past them, directing them towards to the Thousand Sunny. The Straw Hats follow it to the fifth island, Hoshizora Kaiten Island. When they arrive, they find a collection of stars in a rotating sky, and are instructed to pick a specific one within 10 attempts, or they will be trapped on the island forever. Luffy and Sanji pick randomly and fail nine times, but on the tenth attempt, Zoro cuts the sky itself, stopping the rotation and allowing them to escape.

Having escaped the island, the Straw Hats return to the Sunny, as Chiron watches from afar.[4]

The screening includes a variety of unique locations, themed after different astrological things.
