Summary[]
Every episode begins with Bartolomeo narrating the "New World" opening narration, followed by him listing the Straw Hat Pirates and introducing himself. He then introduces the episode's Straw Hat, with a few of their notable scenes in the story and their dream, and transitions into the full recap.
Monkey D. Luffy[]
After his opening narration, Bartolomeo announces that the first member he's covering is the crew's captain, Monkey D. Luffy.
Beginning in Foosha Village, Bartolomeo explains Luffy's meeting with Shanks, their encounter with the Lord of the Coast, and Shanks giving Luffy his straw hat. Ten years later, Luffy sets out to sea, this time defeating the Sea King with ease. Aiming to create a pirate crew, he recruits eight crew members; however, heading backwards, Luffy and his first four recruits enter the Grand Line, declaring their dreams while sailing through a storm. They travel through the Grand Line, discovering a giant whale, dinosaurs, a snowy island, rival pirates, an island in the sky, a water-filled city, secret Government organizations, and overwhelming opponents, as a montage of Luffy's actions is shown.
Continuing his narration, Bartolomeo discusses how Luffy never gives up against powerful enemies. He explains the Straw Hats' time in Arabasta, how they stopped Operation Utopia, and Vivi's goodbye. Following that, he discusses a terrible event in Luffy's life: the imprisoning of his older brother, Portgas D. Ace, and the Summit War of Marineford that followed. He explains how, after battling through waves of Marines and Warlords, Luffy was able to free his brother, only for him to die to protect Luffy. With his brother dead, Bartolomeo explains how Luffy fell into despair, was pulled out of it by Jinbe, and trained with Rayleigh before reuniting with his crew two years later.
His story complete, Bartolomeo rapidly covers some of the changes around the world during Luffy's training, such as Trafalgar Law and Buggy joining the Warlords and Sakazuki's promotion to Fleet Admiral. Jumping ahead to his arrival on Dressrosa, he mentions Luffy discovering his brother Sabo was alive, before concluding that Luffy will only get stronger to protect his friends.
Roronoa Zoro[]
After his opening narration, Bartolomeo announces that the second member he's covering is the Three Sword Style swordsman and pillar of the crew Roronoa Zoro.
Bartolomeo begins his story with Luffy landing in Shells Town, where Zoro is tied to a cross, and explains how Zoro joined Luffy's fledgling crew. Moving back in time, he explains Zoro's childhood, including his 2001 losses against Kuina, their promise to becoming the World's Strongest Swordsman, and Kuina's death, culminating in Zoro receiving the Wado Ichimonji in her memory and, in his young adulthood, finally leaving Shimotsuki Village.
Recognizing Zoro's belief in strength, Bartolomeo covers his many battles during his journey, including against Cabaji, the Nyaban Brothers, and Hatchan, followed by his defeat against Dracule Mihawk and his promise to never lose again. Having broken two swords against Mihawk, Bartolomeo explains how Zoro bought new ones in Loguetown, before briefly covering his battle against 100 bounty hunters in Whisky Peak and his learning to cut steel against Mr. 1.
Jumping ahead, Bartolomeo demonstrates Zoro's resolve to even sacrifice his life to save Luffy, and discusses his deal with Bartholomew Kuma on Thriller Bark. Jumping ahead again, he explains how Zoro desired further strength, and even begged his old enemy Mihawk for training, spending two years under his tutelage. Upon his reuniting with the crew, he is even stronger than before, showing his later fights against the New Fish-Man Pirates, Monet, and Pica, before concluding that Zoro will continue to grow to attain his goal of World's Strongest Swordsman and to protect his crewmates.
Nami[]
After his opening narration, Bartolomeo announces that the third member he's covering is the tamer of the weather and the Grand Line's currents, the genius navigator Nami.
Starting in Orange Town, Bartolomeo explains how a young woman stole a map of the Grand Line from a pirate crew, as Luffy falls from the sky while she's running away. Using him as an excuse, Nami escapes into an alley, where she watches him easily dispatch the pirates chasing her and invites him to an abandoned house. She explains her goal of amassing 100,000,000, and Bartolomeo notes that she must have a reason. Luffy asks her to join his crew, and she accepts, beginning to sail with him. However, soon after, she steals the Going Merry and sails away, leaving them behind.
Arriving at Arlong Park, then Cocoyasi Village, Bartolomeo explains how Nami is actually a member of the Arlong Pirates, and is saving up her money to buy the village from Arlong, who had taken over during her childhood and killed her mother before kidnapping her for her cartography skills. Having finally reached the money she needed, Nami had returned to her hometown; however, Arlong learns of her progress and tips off the Marines to her stolen goods, having them confiscated. Desperate and out of options, Nami cries and asks Luffy to help her, and Bartolomeo explains how the Straw Hats challenge and defeat Arlong and each of his officers.
Finally free, Nami joins the Straw Hats as their permanent navigator, and they travel to the Grand Line. In each location, one of Nami's actions is shown, such as her battle against Miss Doublefinger, navigating the Knock Up Stream, defeating Kalifa, and receiving her first bounty. Bartolomeo proceeds to cover Nami's time on Thriller Bark, including how she was almost forced to marry Absalom and how she befriended Lola, followed by the Straw Hats' separation and her time studying on Weatheria.
Jumping ahead two years, Bartolomeo covers some of Nami's more recent actions, such as forgiving Jinbe for inadvertently allowing Arlong to roam in the East Blue, saving the children that Caesar Clown experimented on, and leading the Thousand Sunny to Zou. Finally, he concludes by stating that her navigation abilities allow the Straw Hats to sail fearlessly through the New World.
Usopp[]
After his opening narration, Bartolomeo announces that the fourth member he's covering is the man who dreams of becoming a "brave warrior of the sea", the sniper Usopp.
In Syrup Village, the day begins with Usopp running through town, falsely yelling that pirates are attacking. To his surprise, pirates actually do come, and Usopp leads his gang of children to confront them, where he meets the soon-to-be-formed Straw Hats. Upon learning that Luffy knew his father Yasopp, Usopp welcomes them to the village. Later in the day, he visits Kaya in an attempt to cheer her up with his stories. He later learns that Kaya's butler, Klahadore, is actually the pirate Kuro, who plans to attack the village; however, the villagers don't believe Usopp due to his common lying, and he resolves to fight off the pirates himself before they make it to town. The next day, Usopp and the Straw Hats successfully fight off the Black Cat Pirates, but Usopp asks Kaya and the children to keep it a secret from the villagers. He decides to set out to sea to follow his dream, joining Luffy's fledgling crew aboard the newly-acquired Going Merry.
After the Straw Hats leave, Bartolomeo notes how Usopp is famous for his lying, as Merry explains to Kaya that he began doing so to cheer up his sick mother after his father left. Bartolomeo then explains how at Luffy's side, Usopp continued to explore the seas, battling fearsome foes; as an example, he shows Usopp and Chopper's battle against Miss Merry Christmas and Mr. 4, and how he stood up to her insulting Luffy.
Next, Bartolomeo notes Usopp's close relationship with Luffy, and how it wavered during their time on Water 7. With the Going Merry damaged beyond repair, Luffy makes the decision to purchase a new ship, something that Usopp can't accept; in response, Usopp challenges Luffy to a duel, and the two fight outside the city. With Luffy's victory, Usopp leaves the crew. Bartolomeo jumps ahead to the Straw Hats traveling to Enies Lobby to save Robin, and demonstrates Usopp's alter-ego Sogeking. He explains how Usopp used the persona to help rescue Robin despite his estrangement from the crew, and how in the face of Luffy nearly being defeated by Rob Lucci, he was willing to abandon it to cheer for his friend. With the fighting complete, the Merry comes to Enies Lobby to rescue the Straw Hats, and they hold the ship's funeral on their return to Water 7. There, they receive the Thousand Sunny, and Usopp apologizes for fighting with Luffy, rejoining the crew.
Bartolomeo explains how, reunited with the crew, Usopp continues to do great things. On the Sabaody Archipelago, he is separated once again, and is sent to the Boin Archipelago by Bartholomew Kuma. There, learning of Luffy's defeat at the Summit War of Marineford, he devotes himself to study under Heracles, mastering usage of the Pop Green in combat. Two years later, his confidence has grown, and Bartolomeo outlines his accomplishments on Fish-Man Island and Dressrosa.
Bartolomeo concludes by noting that Usopp faces the New World with improved weapons and better lies, states that Usopp continues to grow to achieve his dream of becoming a "brave warrior of the sea", and proclaims that he will face anyone to protect his friends.
