In June 2003, Mega Bloks, a Canada-based worldwide company, announced that it has entered into an agreement with Bandai for the joint development and distribution of construction toys for Japan and other countries in Asia. They since designed and manufactured construction toys specifically geared to the Japanese market, the former contributing with its knowledge in building block sets, the later providing the required licenses to boost sells.
The joint venture has focused on One Piece in 2004, producing 4 sets pertaining to the micro size label of Mega Bloks, i.e. toys with bricks the same size as regular Lego ones.
Mega Bloks Basic Standard 1300[]
The Basic Standard 1300 series produced 3 sets dealing with One Piece, released in late March 2004 at ¥1,365 each.

Mega Bloks DX Going Merry[]
This huge set was released late September 2004 at the regular price of ¥8,925. It was designed so to build a big Going Merry of 58 cm long. Referenced as #OP04160, the boat came with the 7 Mugiwara crew members at the time.
