One Piece Wiki

One Piece Water Battle is an interactive children's show held at Universal Studios Japan.

Information[]

One Piece Water Battle is an interactive show centered around the use of water guns. In each show, Monkey D. Luffy and his companions face different enemies and invite the audience to help them by spraying the enemies with their water guns. Actors on stage often wield water guns of their own or use water blasts effects that soak the audience.[1]

Water Battle shows were initially held once a day in the One Piece Area (ワンピース・エリア?) of Universal Studios Japan and are centered around the use of water guns.[2] Their frequency was increased to four shows per day following the initial popularity. Most shows are 20-25 minutes long.[1]

Shows[]

2014[]

The Marines host a training exercise for theme park guests. During the training, Monkey D. Luffy and Usopp appear and interrupt it, causing a water battle between the two groups.[1]

2015[]

Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, and Kin'emon try to pass through an area that is heavily guarded by the Marines. They are quickly spotted, and after evading capture from low-ranking Marine soldiers, they engage in a fight against Bastille.[1]

2016[]

Gatz hosts a water battle, featuring Donquixote Pirates executives Lao G and Senor Pink. In the third round, Luffy appears, but he's being pursued by Bastille. Sabo intervenes, stopping Bastille's attack and telling Luffy to flee. Luffy drops his hat on the way out, which Sabo picks up and gives to an audience member to return.

The Donquixote Pirates, now led by Trebol, enter the stage again. Luffy returns as well, searching for his hat. He is ambushed, but the audience comes to the rescue by spraying the Trebol and his crew mates with their water guns.[3][4]

2017[]

Tamago introduced the show before encountering Caribou and making the young pirate flee. Tamago then left the stage. Luffy, Carrot, and Bepo appeared, then Tamago returned to fight them. They were saved by Law. Then Capone Bege arrived to back up Tamago. The two groups fought, resulting in Lutfy's group's victory thanks to the help of the audience. Before they could celebrate, Caribou reappeared, but Luffy and the audience together forced him to retreat.

2018[]

In 2018, two Water Battle different shows were held. Some characters and plot points were common, but they featured different antagonists.

In the first show, the Straw Hat Pirates land on an island in search for treasure, only to be ambushed by the Marines. Luffy, Usopp, and Zoro faced off against Borsalino, Smoker, Tashigi, Koby, and Helmeppo.

In the second show, the Straw Hat Pirates similarly land on an island in search for treasure, only to be ambushed this time by the Big Mom Pirates. Luffy, Nami, and Brook face off against Charlotte Katakuri, Charlotte Brûlée, Charlotte Cracker, his Biscuit Soldier, and a Bishop Soldier.[5]

2019[]

Just before the Pirates Festival, Luffy, Nami, and Usopp encounter and fight Buggy, Galdino, and his subordinate Mugon. Rob Lucci hears about the conflict and appears. He and Luffy fight, and Lucci is defeated. The Buggy Pirates face Luffy and his crew again but are swiftly detested with the help of the audience's water guns.[6]
