In Denmark, One Piece is published as a manga by Carlsen Verlag's manga department and dubbed as an anime by the Danish Broadcasting Corporation.
Manga[]
The manga began publication in 2003 with a monthly release, which was subsequently dropped to every second then third month to not catch up to the Japanese release.
In 2010, Carlsen Verlag decided to publish only two manga, One Piece and Naruto. Finally, in April 2012, Carlsen Manga released volume 59 with a note that it would be the last One Piece volume to be published in Denmark due to low reader interest.[1]
Anime[]
The One Piece anime was not available in Denmark until early 2020, when the streaming rights for the series with English subtitles was acquired by Crunchyroll.[2]
Despite this, it remained unavailable in Danish until October 11th 2024, when the Danish Broadcasting Corporation released the first 30 episodes dubbed into Danish. The series is available on the streaming service DR TV[3] and the channel DR Ultra. Names in the Danish dub are unaltered from Funimation's English dub.
